Lagos Deputy Gov Reportedly Dumps Gov Ambode For Party Fave Sanwo-Olu

The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule on Tuesday abandoned Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to support Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the two-horse race to pick the ticket to represent the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 governorship election.

Adebule told newsmen at Ward A and D, in Iba Local Council Development Area of Lagos where she participated in the governorship primary of the APC, that she would endorse the candidate chosen by the party.

“The party has chosen a man and it is that man that I will support and follow,” she said.
NAN reports that when the deputy governor arrived at the ward, some of her aides came with Sanwo-Olu’s posters and banners.

At the ward, accreditation started at about 10.36 am as party electoral officials arrived.
There was no formal announcement of the results as the accreditation was brief.

Many party members at the venue started singing the praises of Sanwo-Olu.

    1. Teejay, I don't think Ambode will survive this. Especially when I saw the video of Kwam1 that went viral some weeks ago, then I knew things have gone/ turned really bad. It's just a shame.
Politics is a very dirty game.

    2. I think he should do the honorable thing by just calling itt quit. A good actor leave the stage when the ovation is louder. And I think also that Ambode shot Below the belt when he gave a news conference and mentioned his opponent was arrested in US and also have a psychology issue. That was so dirty and not classy. You can do a dirt on your opponent without having dirt on your fingers. I think he should just get out of the race and go enjoy his money

    3. The worst thing that happened to Nigeria is yoruba people. They are the most unreliable and untrustworthy species ever liveth. Trust them at your own peril. This is coming from a yoruba man so trolls please hold your peace.

    5. It is super annoying when people bring tribal sentiments into issues and belt out blanket statements. Judge what is happening. Judge the characters. Don't insult tribes. I am Yoruba but I am irritated when people say Yoruba are this, Igbo are this. Politicians will go where their bread is buttered. My prayer is for a time in Nigeria, where our votes will count and where our people will use their mandate to show these politicians that they are not God.
I've worked in the North, South, East, West. The face of poverty and suffering is the same. The masses are suffering but who is fighting for them

    3. Let me educate you and your likes. This betrayal story came from the civil war, that's, the Biafra war. We are all in the south with different tribes. But we all have our interests and we align with it. Ojukwu led you to a war, a war between Igbos (Biafra) and Nigeria. Not a war between Hausa and Igbo nor a war between the south and the north. Whatever we did as Nigerians then was not an act of betrayal. We didn't push you to the war, your leader (Ojukwu) did. Like I always say tell your elders to stop being emotional when playing politics.

    4. Shut the fuck up you ignoramus the ibo were marginalized. Gowon sold the ibos out after signing a peace treaty in Accra only for him to go against that treaty ojukwu fought for the ibos

    5. You see politics is all about interest, she's gone for where she considered to be favourable to her, same way wiKe left ameachi and ameachi also supported Buhari ahead of uncle jonah his brother (it's not betrayal, it's politics)
