The National Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress sent from Abuja to monitor the party’s governorship primary in Lagos State has nullified the exercise held across the 20 local government areas of the state on Tuesday.
The Chairman of the committee, Mr. Clement Ebri, who addressed the press around 4.30pm at Protea Hotel, Alausa, said the election could not have held because the committee was still expecting the list of representatives of one of the two aspirants.

DeleteHoney, the desperate one is the incumbent not the incoming. Go and watch his latest press congress and look at him shaking, dejected and almost short of words. At a point he went"i'm not doing this for me".People don't want him again, the only people left with him are those who want to collect the last minute dole out, which is always massive. Even the elites came out to support Sanwo olu, whom they don't really know, just because they don't want Ambode again.

Mr Nabena clarified an earlier report by this newspaper on the reported cancellation.

ReplyDeleteI said it earlier that it was cancelled after reading the news earlier My worries is not about Ambode losing but why with all the acclaimed intellectuals the Yoruba race have,especially the Lagos including their mastery of the media, allow one man to be manipulating the whole region? Must it be him alone deciding who gets ticket and ministerial appointment? Too much authority vested on one man alone.

You people need to understand that Yorubas are not stupid. Ambode is not liked. I was at Secretariat today. Workers were jubilating as news of Sanwo Olu trouncing Ambode filtered in. When Tinubu trued to stop Fashola from having a second term he was resisted vehemently and he retreated and bowed to d wish of d majority. Lagosians are sophisticated. They are used to good governance and stducyites that work. Ambode dismantled all structures. Lagos is a shadow of its old self. Nothing works. Forget bogus major road constructions. I live in Alimosho area. All d roads leading thete are bad. Potholes everywhere. Refuse everywhere. And i heard d man is so proud he does not listen to advise. Every criticism is viewed as political enemies talk. Campaign of calumny. And he aint no saint either. Hence his desperation. If majority of party members and leaders in d state dnt want you must you impose yourself on them? Na by force to serve?

Teejay I understand your sentiments, there are times I also feel that way but truth is tinubu's case is not like he is 'monopolising' the s/west, it is more of love and loyalty( what you easterners accused us of lacking) many people have their reasons for loving this man right from the MKO days to when he battled Obj for the soul of the south West to when he conquered the nation for apc. I remembered his tremendous work as lagos state governor, He paid my waec fee then and he touched other people's lives in different way. So we are indeed loyal to this man many of you love to hate.

But imposition and Godfatherism has to stop, for they are the bane of corruption that has eaten deep into the Nigeria system. OK what if by tomorrow this Sanwo or so becomes governor and tow the same path like Ambode did, that means Tinubu will bring out someone else again. How long should we continue this way?

Many people accused tinubu of being corrupt but he is yet to be proved guilty by court of law even when he was in opposition party and taken to court by Obj and GEJ, Tinubu always wins.

Moreover Lagos is very dirty now, pot holes everywhere, Ambode keep on doing roads simultaneously thereby not giving cummonters alternative route, education sector that Fashola rebarnd is back in state of anarchy, plant a tree project as been abandoned, street light are no more working.
