Labour Room Drama 233

WOW....wow wow!!!

Dear SDK,

I have 4 kids and I had all 4 via vaginal.

1st Labour -  Hubby and I were managing cost as such we had agreed and begged God for a natural delivery. I went past my due date and the doctor decided to Induce me. I was so huge, black, and could no longer sleep at night, so I was open to anything to get the baby out.

I was to report to the hospital by 7am, but I was so scared and I kept delaying till hubby had to drag me out. Hubby helped shave my VJ, infact hubby was the one bathing me because I was so huge and could no longer bend down. Got to the hospital by 12 noon, and doctors inserted a tablet. I was asked to walk around, which I did for over 3 hours, I got tired and slept off. The nurses came and shouted at me and was like, I am playing with CS o, that do I want the induction to fail?

I started crying and wishing hubby and I were rich to afford a CS. Wicked nurses were laughing at me, that I never see anything. I got up and started walking and finally around 5pm, I started feeling contractions, I was still laughing and chatting my friend, that labour is easy jo, little did I know what was coming By 5.30pm, the pain went from 1 to 10, it was mad!

My labour was back to back and I had no time to rest in between contractions, I was screaming like a mad dog, I was on all four on the floor, groaning and cursing hubby, by 6pm the nurses checked me and said I was only 3cm gone and that they are expecting baby to show in another 6/8 hours. I grabbed her by the neck and was screaming, this is impossible! How can I be in this mad pain for another 6/8 hours.

By this time I was stark naked and had pulled out most of my braids, hubby had marks all over his body, I felt life leaving me with each contraction. Hubby started calling his brother to transfer money to him immediately. He went to look for the doctor and told him to arrange the theatre that he cant continue seeing his wife like this. The silly doctor told him to go to a bar, that this is normal.

Hubby punched his face o and dragged him to the labour room. He checked me again and I was 5cm gone, this was about 6.30pm. Doctor started begging me to bare the pain that I am progressing well and he doesn't like to perform emergency cs.

My waters broke, and the warm tickling feeling relieved me for like 30 secs, like a miracle I felt my tommy turn and the baby suddenly descended, I had a strong urge to push, I couldn't hold it, I started screaming, I want to push o, I want to push o. The doctor said it's impossible that he just checked me and I was only 5cm gone. I called my hubby to come and catch his baby, lo and behold her head was already showing, there was no time for the doctor to wear his gloves back, he adjusted the baby's shoulder and one push, my baby girl fell out by 6.45pm. she didn't cry initially so she got some hot slaps, she screamed her lungs out.

It wasn't love at first sight, I was too traumatised to even look at her. I tore badly and I had to be stitched. Gosh Stella, I almost passed out from the pain as the anaesthesia was not effective.
Labour lasted 1 and half hours and the doctor told me, I have precipitous labour and that subsequent babies, at the onset of labour, I should rush straight to the hospital.

Let me recover from the first one for five minutes and continue reading...OMG!!!

2nd Labour _ Hubby and I don hammer small, so we used a very good hospital at VI. My gynae wanted to bring out baby at 37 weeks because she was small for her age. I told him my history of fast back to back labour, and he said he will control it and make it is as natural as possible. Day of induction, I was excited and this time I was mentally prepared for what was coming. Induction was to start by midnight, and I was given a tablet under my tongue. I slept off and I woke up by 7am to very very mild cramps.

Doctor came and inserted a line, Pitocin at very low level was administered to me, my cramps were still very very mild and I was watching tv, gisting with hubby. By 12 noon, I was checked and I was 3cm gone, Hubby and I were very happy with the money spent, cause we felt this is what labour should be. 1pm, I was given a pain reliever, I don't know the name, but it took me to cloud 9, I was super high and was just singing and dancing.

I finally dozed off and woke up by 5pm. I was checked and I was 6cm gone, by this time I was tired and so hungry. My gynae was called and he said he would come in by 10pm to take delivery of the baby, that he has a CS to perform. The nurses finally allowed me to have hot chocolate as I was starving. I could not move about as all manner of gadgets were connected to me. I begged the nurse to hasten labour as I was extremely tired, her shift was also going to over by 6pm and I wanted her to be there. She begged me not to tell the doctor and she increased the Pitocin and I went from 6cm to 10cm in less than 15 mins. 15 mins of mad pain! My water never broke and my tiny baby came out still in his ammonic sac by 5.45pm. No tear, I was a very happy mother and felt the connection immediately.

My gynae missed my delivery and he wondered how my labour progressed quickly.

Its the precipitous labour thing,I checked up the meaning
''Precipitous labor is extremely rapid labor and delivery. It is defined as expulsion of the fetus within less than 3 h of commencement of regular contractions''

3rd Labour - Hubby and I decided to have her in Obodo Oyinbo America. She came at 39 weeks. I didn't even know I was in labour as I didn't feel a pain. At about 3am, I got up to urinate and when I wiped, I saw the 'show'. Hubby quickly called his friend to take us to the hospital. His friend's wife said we should wait till morning, since I wasn't having painful contractions . But we insisted because of my history. The ride to the hospital took about 15 mins and I barely made it to the ER. I had my baby at ER in my night wear as there was no time to take me to the delivery room nor change. No pain at all, just strong contractions and urge to push. My baby came at 3.35am.

WOW....

4th Labour - As a pro, we decided to have a home delivery in Obodo Oyinbo America. He came at 38 weeks, no pain at all also, after all the plan of water bath, photography bla bla.. Baby made his way before the tube could be filled sef. We went shopping, and my water broke. See the way we rushed home and called my mid wife, she barely made it sef. Less than 30mins he made his entry.

PS: I have tied my tubes and had a VJ reconstruction. I am a very happy mother and I am so ever grateful to God Almighty.

*Maybe your fast labour was induced by that thing the Nurse increased in your first Labour.....Hmmmm!!!...I have never heard of anything like this before..
Happy that you are happy........What does VJ reconstruction involve?what was wrong with yours? did they tighten and cut out the flabby parts?
Please reply or send a mail lecturing us oooh....
I just remembered the BV whose hubby called her a borehole cos her kinikan was to wide.

    1. I have 4 children and all my labour is fast and painless. I go to the hospital from work usually and in 15mins am out. My hubby never witnessed any of my child birth. It's either he is parking car,or going to sign in the office and come back. Congrats poster. Till now, don't no what's labour or menstrual pain. Was induced during my last delivery, after the 1st twin came out. They kept asking no pain,I said no,next thing I told them was i want to poo. Both deliveries where 15mins apart.

    3. Some of you hear America, and think gold-covered streets! If that country was so great, why would the likes of Oprah and all these rappers grown up in abstract poverty?!

Dear Bianca, America has one of the highest maternal-mortality rates (if not the highest) in the Western world. That figure is even higher for black women!

Also, 360 degrees means coming full circle and going back to the point in which one started. What you meant to say is 180 degrees.

  6. God bless you and your babies ma'am.
That precipitous labour must be what I had, cos I delivered in less than 2 hours of active labour.

I laughed so much at the baby coming before the tub could get filled.

I have been badgering her with labour questions for the past few weeks as I am carrying my first and in my 3rd trimester. May God help me and other expectant mothers, Amen.

Stella, precipitous labour is not induced by anything o. Happens to some women, just like that.

I'm a mother of two and both were like that. In fact, I almost had my second child at home. God is just merciful
