The state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Bashir Mafara, made this known while briefing newsmen in Gusau.
“Our stand remains the same with that of the national body. We do not receive directives from governors so the governors’ resolution has nothing to do with our position,” he said.
Marafa lamented that some workers in the state, were yet to benefit from the N18, 000 minimum wage, in spite of the fact that the state governor is the Chairman of the Governors’ Forum.
He said workers in the state were ever ready for the industrial action as planned by the organised labour. Marafa said workers in the state would continue to support labour leaders in any way to succeed in their struggle for better welfare.

ReplyDeleteLabour ko labour ni. Who knows this self serving human beings calling themselves labour leaders? Think about the timing of their action. They only are fighting for their pockets. No more no less. How many times have they led fight against the humongous salaries being paid the NASS people? No. You see them fraternizing with and famzing Saraki. Shior.
ReplyDeleteIf only the strike would be genuine and fruitful. . . The amounts being mentioned are pitiful. Geskia. Imagine how much legislators, other political office holders earn and you wonder why it's so hard to do right by the majority. How much do these governors receive in the name of security vote? Ehn? Money that is unaccounted for legally. That of course is besides other monetary that accrues to them per the office. But they say State Governments can't afford 30k minimum wage. That's not even double the current minimum wage.
ReplyDeleteNigeria Why?!
