My cousin lived in a shanty house and refused to leave even after her hubby got a contract worth millions. Her hubby got a house agent and for every house the agent showed them my cousin will later see it in a dream that it was a "bad" house.
I went to my Cousins place one day and I told her ''with all this millions you people now have you still stay in this place where you share toilet?''. She said the house was a "good' one and they will stay there until they built their own house.
When I got married we moved into a storey building with 4 flats. Interestingly 3 of us had twins while the person in the 4th flat was done with child bearing. Our compound became know as ile ibeji (House of twins).
One day my neighbor came to my house and asked if I haven't been noticing the misfortune that is befalling the tenants, I said no. Her husband and another tenant have lost their jobs. Then she asked me what happened to my car (my husband did a bad investment before we rented the house so I had to sell my car to pay off the debts).
Some strange things had been happening in the compound like the financial downturn of the tenants but I chose to stand by what I believe which is greater is he that is in me, and i also focused on the good. Like 3 of us having twins in less then 3 years all in the same month.
I'm not ignorant of the fact that there are bad houses, that some landlady/landlord are fetish and bury things in their houses.
There is a house down my street that almost every tenant lost a child. A friend who lives there had 2 miscarriages, one at 8 months. My husband even pulled my ears to go and tell her to leave that house.
While there are some "good" houses that you see tenants make visible progress, even become landlords.
I know of a na dem dey rush us house, why? Every tenant and I mean every tenant moves from that house to their own house. So as as a tenant leaves there is a rush to rent the house.
And let me quickly add that my cousin husband lost all his millions in that "good" house and they went back to square one.
It's good to pray and sanctify any new house before you move in.
ReplyDeleteAll I know is that there are bad houses with faulty foundations, I have shared my experience here before.
ReplyDeleteGod should lead one to the right one jare....
My former compound should be a 'na dem dey rush us kinda house'. I mean, every single tenant (we were about 6) all moved from there to our own houses. Every single one of us. I think it was just one person that his house wasn't really completed yet, that didn't necessarily move into his house immediately.
ReplyDeleteTo me that house was a really good house with a very nice Alhaji landlord. It was after his death his kids and grandkids turned the house into something else.
To think it was a room and a room and parlor self contain and every tenant moved into their respective houses. Really says a lot about the house.
Oh memories!!! God, thank you for your unmerited upliftment.

DeleteTo be a single girl in this Lagos isn't easy. My landlady isn't bad,i hardly even see her except we bump into each other in the compound but I take her as a mother.
ReplyDeleteI am the only tenant and all her kids are married but come over to visit.
That is how the woman called me one day we should have a talk if I don't mind. She wants to discuss marriage with me. She asked my age,I said 33.she now said if I don't mind can i contact her Alfa. The woman is a very rich alhaja. She said it's just for prayers,it's not anything bad. He even does prayers and work for her daughter's who are even in their 20s and all married with kids.
That day I just felt weak. I collected the no so I don't look disobedient. But I never called. I don't believe in all this Alfa pastor thing. I have wasted enough resources on fake pastors.
I am dating someone but not in the country and I don't even know where the relationship is going. He has to sort himself well there financially before we even think of marriage.
That day I just thought of my life after that her talk.
There are bad houses oo. My uncle and the family are running around now looking for new accommodation. They want to pack our after their landlords wife came to them narrating how her husband has been the cause of all the bad things happening in the compound. She's running away from the marriage herself so she adviced them to find their way too.
ReplyDeleteMy uncles wife lost two children at child birth. She's suppose to have four kids now but two mysteriously died. All in that house
She has been crying. Things are so tight for them eh. The landlord is an occult man who uses blood yearly to fortify himself it seems he needs blood this year again and is seriously looking for any empty soul. The wife had to run for her life.
Things are really happening.
OMG sorry for your cousin. Be careful when buying or renting before you carry someone load.
ReplyDeleteAlways put God in everything you are doing.
Most landlords are fetish and have used their houses to destroy destinies. So be careful where you rent. If your heart is not there don't force it.
True some houses no be am at all. Reason why some people fast and pray when scouting for a house. The first house I rented in my life na story for another day...I learnt the landlady is late...few years after I packed out.
ReplyDeleteI have a wierd response to this post
ReplyDeleteWe moved into an apartment with a history of this that we knew nothing of.
History had it that infants ALWAYS died there and I and husband had no idea.
I do remember the landlady asking if we had children before we moved in but I figured it was just a regular KYC question.
Months into my pregnancy I noticed neighbours on our quiet close trying to get too cosy asking personal questions and all but I kept my distance
In my 8th month I woke up to use the loo just as I was about to waddle back into bed I felt like I was hit forcefully in my lower abdomen.
I screamed to the highest heavens and my husband couldn't figure out why I was panting and screaming I obviously was not in labour ...I later slept off and made nothing of the incident.
Some days after I was scheduled for a routine check days before my planned CS.
I went in for a scan and found out the baby had died hours before I got to the hospital.
He was to be my first after marrying in my late 30's ..right after the terrible ordeal of a CS to remove a dead baby, one of my neighbours in the next building rushed in to tell us the building had a history of killing babies plus other gory tales about the ownersof the building
Na so we run commot even when we had just renewed the rent.
Lagos una dooo o
OMG. Sorry
DeleteNa wa oo!
DeleteEven d building opposite my house, hmmm...I pity d tenants dat will move in there! Every now n then I think relatives of d owner or d owner himself comes n pours concoction round d house, jist is, he does DAT to get tenants.
At nite u will just be hearing strange noises coming from DAT compound!
Lord will deliver us from danger!
Jesus christ Sorry dear..
DeleteThat is how I wanted to rent a house withn my same estate. Had gone to even view and was discussing rent with the agent. That is how one of the security I am close to told me the young lady that stayed there before was found dead there and that is why it was vacant.
ReplyDeleteThe way I ran 4/40. I just said let me keep managing my flat like that.
My dear, the way I befriend security before I pack into a place ehn?
DeleteBe respectful to them, give them money for a good lunch, they will download history for you before Mungo Park wore knicker to cross River Niger.
The house where children die before secondary school they will tell you. The house where people will leave poorer than when they step in, they will tell you. The house where most tenants will always have downturn in finance, they will tell you. The house where they buried things, dead bodies, alive bodies before they built it, they will tell you. Just be humble and ask questions. They house that is crumbling and will soon collapse because the builder used shoddy materials. The house that must witness at least one miscarriage, one accident and one adult death EVERY year, they will tell you. They have all the info. They will tell you.
Open your mouth and ask the right person.
Ignore all those agents o. I see them as serpents. Their own is how to get their percentage, that's all. They will sell you pit of hell. I would rather give an agent's money to security man who will give me honest details.
Ask security/gatemen there and even possible former or present tenants.
I remember similar post hear in 2014. The anon said, when the landlady died and they were clearing her room, they found 12 keys tied together with different coloured ropes representing the 12 apartments in the compound and different fetish/occultic items in her room. The anon said that nobody in that compound was flourishing, as soon as you pack in, struggle in every area and there were too many tragic things happening within. Na so anon pack kaya flee.
Also, don't be deceived by those landlords/landladies quoting scripture...even the devil prays. If I tell you what my eyes have seen...
Hmmmm.
Reporting from Eko.
OMG!
ReplyDeleteWhere we live now, they former tenants accused the landlord of being responsible for their misfortune.
ReplyDeleteWell, we still moved in. I don't want to believe things are bad for us, but we used to have 2 cars, now we only have 1. Debts everywhere, no steady income. We give God the glory anyway. I just hope it's coincidence...sigh. I can't wait for us to acquire our own house. God hear my prayer.
My own landlord that when you pack in with 2 cars u go comot with bicycle before u know it problem here and there in the compound sometimes you see big shit at the backyard who shit am everybody for compound go dey ask their self at times one kind smell from nowhere go dey smell sometimes you see bat enter house u go dey wonder how e take enter when Windows nd doors dey close sometimes we go wake up for morning see big big plenty housefly don full inside house a 3 bedroom flat upstairs for that matter me and hubby go dey wonder how e take enter sometimes neighbours go dey complain say then see one woman dey wake round compound for midnight fear no gree dem ask who she be wetin she dey find naim me nd husband kukuma pack comot after we don go prayer den tell us the house no good say na darkess surround d place say if u want comot ee go do do u 2 mind say nothing dey happen say na bad spirit wey d landlord don conjure there to tie d tenant down dey cause am and people wey comot there before u know things go dey work out well for them. We do prayer wella make d evil spirit wey dey there no follow us go d new place wet we get. My people the tin wey my family see for the compound my mouth no fit talk am finish because na God save us from extreme poverty hardship make I stop here. Ago Okota landlords I dey hail una ooo
ReplyDeleteI know ago, nawa oh
DeleteSame thing we are facing in same Ago,had miscarriage twice. When we decided to move out that is when things becomes tough, living from hand to mouth, owing house rent. No tenants progresses.
DeleteHmmmmm, just like my former house,I had three miscarriages, lost my job, husband's business went down and baby always screaming in the night for no reason, mine was better sef,the madam upstairs lost her distributorship and her husband was duped of millions.the man in the upper flat had owls breathing like humans on his roof and he could barely sleep every night with his family as they are always holding night vigils, another tenant who was a thick Madame on the island selling clothes could barely afford 5 shops from 15 shops, the yahoo boys were the worst hit, they were practically begging for Maggie and salt with pure water till they brought an Alfa who dug out a big pot filled with all sorts out of their roomπ°π°come and see the way they pick race out of the compound and I was the second to go,as soon as I left all other occupant vamoosed oh and Glory be to God we all keep in contact and everyone is doing fine and we moved to greater places still in rented apartments but almost everyone of us has laid a foundation for a building and the landlady son who came from abroad to start his own business lives there now and anytime I see the man I pity him because the only thing he knows about abroad now is the dreads on his head and the landlady is shrinking in sizes everyday because she rented the place out to some occultist and they are showing her power pass power because while they are getting richer she and her children are getting poorer
DeleteI remember when I wanted to rent a shop in 2014,as we were inspecting the shop I went out to get water from the car. One man in the next building came to me and told me not to pay that anyone that enters the shop leaves with nothing in less than a year. Till 2weeks ago I passed there the shop is still vacant.
ReplyDeleteIt's important to always pray before renting a new place. Also ask questions around
I agree with this bad house thingy. The house next door has been killing all the tenant wives that's moves into it. Only one was lucky cos her husband was a prayer warrior but she ran mad for a while before they packed out. I'm sure she would have died if they didn't. Now a reverend sister has bought the house. I pray she doesn't die too.
ReplyDeleteI and hubby rented a house..as newly weds we packed in...before we knew it..things started going down gradually... We started seeing handwritings on the wall..like physically handwriting..wake up with pains on our leg and co..then we overhead people talking about the place, how everyone in the compound had their finances hit, how the place was a former shrine before it was sold to the present landlord and how the whole estate was suffering the same fate and attack...I didnt need to hear anymore..house rent didnt expire before we ran away
ReplyDeleteBad houses exist ooo! I can ask questions when it comes to renting houses oo! I ask the security men and other tenants.I avoid stories that touch. My uncle moved in to a house by Apo junction the house is beside the bridge people in Abuja those who knows. This house has been bought by different people but now it belongs to Ngozi okonjo Iweala. At night my uncle will be hearing a young girl shouting buy groundnut buy egg, buy okpa, they couldn't sleep at night they ran out of that house in less than 1 month even the security men take off they keep hiring new security but they quit when they discover the ghost girl crying buy egg, buy groundnuts!
ReplyDeleteI thank God for my compound oo is a very good house
ReplyDeleteThey told me that our house was haunted but I still bought it because it was a very good price in Lekki. They told me that anyone who lives there dies in one year.
ReplyDeleteI have lived there for 4 years now. Got a promotion, husband changed jobs for the better and had my 2 kids there. I don't believe these old wives fables.
