Yesterday Ambode in a brief press conference conceded defeat and congratulated his opponent Sanwo-Olu.
Before his shock acceptance of the result, there had been expectation that the governor would fight the declaration of Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the state’s Tuesday governorship primary.
The election result was initially cancelled by the APC National Working Committee panel that had promised to announce a new date for the primary.
The panel also made a U-turn on Wednesday to declare Sanwo-Olu the winner, sparking speculations that the governor would reject the move.
But a few hours after the panel’s new decision, Ambode’s media team sent a press statement that the governor would host a “world press briefing” causing more speculations even suggestions that he might dump the ruling party.

Obviously that is what could have made him backpedal his initial stand. A quick questions to Lagosians, I noticed in Nigeria politics right from 1999 till date that governors and president always anoint their successors but that isn't the case in Lagos. Before you argue, remember Ambode wasn't Fashola anointed. In fact Fashola was muzzled out from bringing a successor of course you know who the hell the person that did that was. Fashola anointed wasn't allowed to scale through. The same person will still do that in 2027. Why is it so? Is Lagos his investment?
ReplyDeleteBetter for him because they all sold their birthrights to Tinubu.
ReplyDeleteSecondly he is a Yoruba man and cannot stand on his words as his deputy too cannot stand on her words.
All APC in Lagos sold theirs too and no one to fight for him
yori you are very silly for that statement. Who has sold their birth right in this Nigeria more than your people. You even have no loyalty amongst yourself not to talk of with others. You cant even stay in your infertile lands instead you keep migrating allover and insulting the hausas and Yoruba that pity you.
DeleteAnon 12:13 you dey mind the mumu. They sold their own birthrights to guy men and ritualists.
DeleteNa so the thing happened, trust Efcc to chase him round the town and frustrate the hell out of him . He would have pretended and never would have done that conference stuff. The truth about Sanwo olu will still come via Pdp, when the elections draw closer. Ambode is a baby Politician. Is not only Ambode that will come down, the jagajaga man will still come down let's watch and see.
ReplyDeleteHow can Pastor Osinbanjo be with APC rogues. Pastor and devil eating from the same pot. Don't miss heaven because of power.

Whoever forced him to concede is a friend indeed. If not, he would have continued to ridicule and rubbish himself. I mean, how is it even possible to force yourself on people who obviously do not want you? And so arrogantly too. mtchw
