Gov. Fayose Heads To Abuja For Showdown With EFCC

Ayodele Fayose, outgoing governor of Ekiti, has left for the nation’s capital, Abuja, to honour the invitation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Fayose had earlier written a letter to the EFCC saying he will turn himself in immediately his tenure as governor expires on October 16.

Idowu Adelusi, chief press secretary to Fayose, said “the governor is on his way to Abuja right now. Though, it’s on Tuesday that he will be going to the EFCC office”.

The governor will meet with his lawyers at his private residence to prepare for the invitation.

“Also, there is a plan to mobilise his supporters and some PDP leaders to follow him when he will be reporting at the EFCC office, so that’s why he is going to Abuja today,” a source said.

Fayose is expected to meet with Umar Mohammed, the commission’s director of operations, at the anti-graft agency’s head office.

EFCC had begun the investigation of Fayose, his wife Feyisetan and top aides over allegations of money laundering and abuse of office.

    1. When comedians such as David okon start praising a thief like Fayose for making himself available for questioning over substantial proof of stolen tax payers monies, then I see no reason why we should seek a better Nigeria because we are the architects of our problems.

    3. A man who willingly offer himself to be prosecuted deserve some praise. What about Obanikoro? Didn't he absconded? When he finally returned, what happened? He was shield from prosecution and exonerated because he leaked all what Fayose did, forgetting he was an accomplice to that same crime. This was a man involved with Fayose at Ekitigate but today he is walking freely and you see nothing bad about it. Your mind and conscience is as dark as Buhari hatred for Dasuki lolzxxx

    4. Mao Akuh is revolutionary in irrational examples. As for Teejay, you just answered the question that Fayose stole and is as corrupt as any other politician in Nigeria. Perhaps you are misunderstanding the meaning of prosecution. It is court process that involves prosecution. What he is doing now is honouring a prospective investigative interview at the EFCC. Why should he be praised? If a thief is caught stealing or admits to stealing, we should all praise the thief for such admission right? Does your first sentence make sense to you at all. How did you even conceive such an argument and proudly posted it? A graduate???? So because Obanikoro is there, Fayose should be left alone? Because Anenih escaped, Shina Rambo should be left alone? Well, if my mind and conscience is as dark as Buhari’s hatred for Dasuki, it is not as conscienceless like someone who praises a thief for thievery. And who justifies another thief’s actor by another thief. At least, I can proudly speak about my degree certificates with my English. I want you to proudly demonstrate that you earned yours without these gbagauns that are hardly incomprehensible. Lol. I just dey salute your Zebrudaya and Funke Akindele’s use of dictionary. You too much.

    6. Your comment speaks volume on a one sided judgment. Isn't Obanikoro in the country? So what is the meaning of Anenih and Shina Rambo in your statement? isn't your Anenih available at the moment? Or did he run again? Why haven't you clamour for his arrest as to answer the case that made him absconded shortly after the 2015 elections. You claimed to be a crusader of better Nigeria my arse. Sycophants you are. I thought you were different, but now I know better that you aren't different from those you have accused here for being sentimental.

    9. Hey anon 9:10. His name is ASA. He mentioned it in one of his exchanges with tee jay. I read like some days ago where he wrote that he doesn’t frequent this blog anymore because of his research. And time difference. I think he lives outside Naija. I really would love to see his comments on the recent developments in the political events in Naija. His analysis and the debates here would be some good for thought.
