David Mark’s Daughter Reportedly Dumps PDP After She Lost Reps Ticket

Blessing Onuh-Mark, one of the daughters of immediate past President of the Senate, David Mark, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

DAILY POST reports that her defection came barely two weeks after losing the party’s ticket for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency to her uncle, Johnson Egli Ahubi.

Ahubi is the current Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.

It was gathered that Blessing, who is wife of the former Local Government chairman of Otukpo, Innocent Onuh, was advised to step aside for her uncle, Ahubi, but she refused.

Before the party’s primaries, Mrs. Onuh pitched her tent with Chief Mike Onoja, who also lost the Benue South Senatorial district ticket of the PDP to Abba Moro, former Interior Minister.

Few weeks after losing the PDP ticket, Onoja joined the Social Democratic Party where the former party’s senatorial flag bearer, Adakole Ijogi, stepped down for him.

A source hinted that on Tuesday that Mrs. Onuh had equally picked the SDP ticket to slug it out in the 2019 general elections with her uncle, Ahubi, and other contenders.

“The truth is, Blessing was not happy with the whole drama that played out. She is also not happy because her father did not use his influence to get her the ticket.

“But (Okpani) Mark told her to wait until 2023 but she refused. Senator Mark doesn’t want to impose his daughter on the people. Now, she has picked the SDP ticket with Mike Onoja who also decamped from PDP last week,”
from dailypost.

    1. I am here anonymous. I don't need to shy away from any post unless I don't feel like commenting. I believe if it was APC, oshiomhole would have impose his sister or relation on the people just the way he has been doing.

    2. Let's all face the truth
Politics of imposition cut across all parties APC PDP and the rest and most times if you decide not to bow to pressure of "stepping down", you lose at the polls.

    3. Exactly 09:29. I think it is time we start holding people accountable and not the party they belong, reasons are this people may decide to defect to another party and continue their corrupt acts.

  3. We are going through tough times in Nigeria but it is only tough people that will survive for the Bible says that enter through the narrow gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14.

  6. That’s very good of David Mark to not force his daughter on the people of Benue, anyways if the people like her and she is good in implementing economic policies and nation building am sure she will win.

    1. This blessing is a proper bully. Idomas might be meek bug not fools. They were patient with David Mark cos he knows how to handle them but what does blessing know. Politics in Mark's family ends with him leaving the Senate. Chikenna.
