His second appearance before the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, lasted less than 30 minutes.
He was also asked to provide a surety who must have landed property in Lagos. The guarantor is also required to have three-year tax clearance in Lagos.
Fayose was arraigned before Justice Mojisola Olatoregun by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of corruption. He is facing an 11-count charge bothering on receiving illegal monies to fund his 2014 governorship campaign in Ekiti State, among other allegations of benefiting from proceeds of money laundering.

ReplyDeleteI don't get that, wasn't he the one our peace were disturbed before now that you will begin to imagine at the end of his tenure they will kill him. So it was noise all along by EFCC? I thouht they will incarcerate him and give him the FFK treatment of three months incommunicado. Imagine the bail of 50million, so cheap with the charges trumped against him.
In as much as I won't support or condone the corruption associated with Fayose, I believe it is the exclusive right of the court to declare him guilty. Who among them politicians aren't guilty of corruption? EFCC should learn to present corruption case and stop all their media trial. The last time I checked they lost so many cases instigated.
