The state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr Don Adinuba, announced the ban in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Onitsha.
Adinuba said the ban became imperative because of the ongoing seeming ownership tussle of Bishop Crowder Memorial School, Onitsha, being contested between the state and the Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion.
Adinuba explained that, "The Anambra Government has, therefore, banned religious services from being conducted in publicly owned secondary schools across the state based on our experience. This is because if they are allowed to worship there, it may turn out to become their own without documentary evidence.
NAN
This one na those using school premises for their religion business In Anambra e concern 🚶🚶
ReplyDeleteUnthinkable discussion! We are the architect of our downfall.
ReplyDeleteReligion does more harm than good, take it or leave it
ReplyDeleteWhy thumbs down- best news yet
ReplyDeleteThis is a great news, I wish others states can do same and also the federal government
ReplyDeleteIf the Federal Government did this, CAN will jump out to say it is about wiping out Christianity in order to Islamize the country. Good to know it is Obiano’s Government versus the church. How can the church be claiming ownership of the school after they were paid off immediately after independence
DeleteGreat move.
ReplyDeleteYes good job. The religion thing is killing us. I won’t mind if they close all religious houses in Nigeria. We will progress more.
