According to Prince Emmanuel Kanu, Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother, the family members were invited by UN as key witnesses of the alleged mass murder committed by the Nigerian security operatives when the family compound was invaded on September 14, 2017, during the Operation Python Dance ll conducted by the Nigerian Army.
Emmanuel Kanu said apart from the family members, “key IPOB members who witnessed the genocide at Afaraukwu were also denied visas.” He accused the Embassy of “conspiracy, collusion and unholy dealings with Abuja to frustrate the family and help the Nigerian state escape punishment.”
Kanu further disclosed that some Amazonians fleeing persecutions in the Camerouns were equally denied visa by the Swiss Embassy, alleging that it was a clear indication that the Embassy was colluding with “oppressive administrations to suppress freedom fighters.”
He lamented what he called bad faith of the Swiss Embassy in constituting itself to an impediment to the family’s bid to get justice over the unprovoked invasion of the family house and the disappearance of their beloved ones including his parents, Eze Israel Kanu, the traditional ruler of Afaraukwu community and his wife, Lolo Sally Kanu.
“Some of our family members who were invited by the United Nations could not understand why they should be denied visas. Some Amazonians who fled Cameroon to Nigeria who were also invited to the United Nations by this same working group were also denied visas.
“The reason for the invitation is to state categorically as eye witnesses, to the United Nations, what happened on the 14th of September 2017, when the Nigerian Army illegally invaded the home of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader.
“For the fact that you house the world body does not give you the right to deny victims and key eyewitnesses of torture and genocide visas even when the same world body invited them,” Kanu lamented.
He therefore appealed to the UN as well as the United States of America and other human rights promoting nations to prevail on the Swiss Government to change their decision and issue visas to the invitees so that the UN could get first hand information from them.dailypost
Drama unfolding
ReplyDeleteWhich drama unfolding?
DeleteWhich UN invited them?
Which UN program/conference ?
And for the fact that Swiss authority denied them visas implies that federal government has a ✋ hand in it.
So if you guys attend the conference and tell your invasion stories, Nigeria will cease to exist as a result of punishment by the same UN?
Bullshit. U guys just wanna trend a little and then remind us it is almost a year.
Meanwhile, #bringbackbiafra's_nnamdikanu_from_hiding
oga, you know why they refused you all visas,....make una no "disappear"...you sef, if you check inside ya mind, na to run, disappear be ya plan...!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLol...
DeleteHagagaga I think so. I don't trust them at all
DeleteMaka why?
ReplyDeleteThe UN invited them as first hand witnessed but they are being denied Visa. We are watching the injustice with keen interest. We know collaborators of this act but we aren't deterred. We have already crossed the rubicon. 14th of September is a day to be reckon with history as we remember our brothers gruesomely killed by the Nigerian government in the covert operation of Python dance. It's will be a mock and test run on our call for REFERENDUM. We will shut down economic activities in the Biafran territories along side vehicular movement on a peaceful sit at home order. We aren't attacking those who wishes to go on their business for they are free to do so but will be see as betrayals. Our mothers were humiliated at Owerri, we shall also stand in solidarity with them on their gallantry effort in the Biafra restoration projects.
ReplyDeleteReferendum is fastly approaching. We will shake the foundation of this contraption called Nigeria. They will kill us as usual but at the very end Biafra will come.
Will you keep quiet and reconstruct your English properly before desecrating the comment section with your repulsive opinion. You keep shouting this "contraption called Nigeria" when you and i know that the igbo's cannot survive on their own. The level of greed and segregation among yourselves of same origin but different states is a clear pointer that affirms that.
Delete“We know the collaborators of this act....”. I love it whenever I see you bragging and making noise with your comments like one mighty heavyweight. Sadly you are just a small boy playing with your phone and is soooo scared of doing anything when the real deal faces you in your baby face. Someone asked you a question below about the passport your Mazi and supreme leader’s family submitted at the Embassy? Nigerian passport or Biafran? It better be the latter if not I go slap una face with hot slaps.
DeletePlease all of you should shut down business activities in your so-called biafran territories. Na who go suffer if no be only una people. Oh! Such a shameless people. You guys have no one at all to lead you in a cause other than a failed DJ in the UK paid by Igbo elites to come make a mockery of the Igbo people and expose lives of young Igbos to danger. What a shame! The same boy has disappeared to the UK continuing his life of sex with women. What a shame! Please when Biafra finally succeeds, ask them to make you English Teacher General in the ministry of education of Biafra. Shehu jaguar, their children go fail tire. Please my stubborn friend, learn to be fair to yourself. Why can’t you guide yourself to wakeful state. Can you not have a deep thinking with yourself? Ask yourself what is wrong with your head. I really mean it. I’m not joking. Do yourself this favour. Don’t start copying and pasting again before your arguments get punctured as always. Switzerland indeed! Then they will jump to UK or any parts of Europe to seek asylum. Very funny people. Ewu.
Chai, our anony is here. Teejay's nemesis. Poverty has so beclouded his mind, his mind has got kleg sir. That's why we just ignore him.
DeleteI don't know why the Nigeria government is afraid of engaging us on a referendum? If they believe they have the voice of the people then why afraid to put that to test? Now they are talking about restructuring which we all know its a deceit and ploy to continue their northern supremacy from the caliphate.
ReplyDeleteHow do you think the people that structured a system that favour their imterest and people will restructure it against their interest? You must be insane to think and believe in restructuring.
Now let me talk about the referendum the world has recorded so far.
In April 1993 nearly 1 million voters in Eritrea (a quarter of the population), cast ballots to become "sovereign and independent" of Ethiopia. This vote was the result of thirty years of war by Eritreans during their War of Independence. The result was a vote for independence by 99.8% of the voters.
History has proven that when countries are asked to vote on independence, more often than not, they say yes. Do you know countless referendums have been held across the world over the past seventy years i.e seven decade. According to Pew Research Center, eight countries voted against independence referendum while twentyfive voted for.
Now let me give you the countries that got independence through referendum.
1957--- Guinea
1961--- Samoa, Jamaica
1962--- Algeria
1964---- Rhodesia, Malta
1974---- Comoros (3 islands)
1977----- Djibouti
1979----- Saint Vincent & the Grenadines
1990/1991---Slovenia. (Armenia, Azerbaijan,Croatia,Estonia, Georgia,Latvia, Lithuania,Macedonia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan).
1992--- Bosnia & Herzegovina
1993--- Eritrea
1999--- East Timor
2006--- Montenegro
2011--- South Sudan.
Soon to be added on the list either for or against is the forth coming independence referendum of New Caledonia slated to hold on November 4th 2018. Voters will be given the choice of remaining part of France or becoming an independent country.
DeleteArticle 20 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Right most lucidly proclaims in clear language that:
“All peoples shall have the right to existence. They shall have the unquestionable and inalienable right to self-determination. They shall freely determine their political status and shall pursue their economic and social development according to the policy they have freely chosen.”
Then the UN puts it clearly;
The right of a people to self-determination is a cardinal principle in modern international law (commonly regarded as a jus cogens rule), binding, as such, on the United Nations as authoritative interpretation of the Charter's norms. It states that a people, based on respect for the principle of equal rights and fair equality of opportunity, have the right to freely choose their sovereignty and international political status with no interference.
So with this two principle cardinal right to an indegeinous people, I want to ask what then is our crime to ask for an independent state?
Run along baby and stop creating a fuss because you're going no where. You guys are stuck with us so save the data and do no further research cos we ain't replicating it here.
DeleteI pray you guys get What u want, make everybody answer Hin parent name
DeleteTeejay which country passport did they submit? asking for an uncle in biafra
