The All Progressives Congress, APC, however polled a total of 254,345 to come second in the keenly contested exercise.
The returning officer for the governorship election, Prof. Joseph Adeola, who announced the results reeled out the total number of valid votes to be 767,955 and rejected votes to be 47,843.
Adeola added that the margin between the PDP and APC which is 353, and the total cancelled ballots totalling 3348 will not make any party a winner of the contest, in line with electoral act.
He, therefore, declared the election inconclusive and announced a rerun to hold on September 27th..
the rerun will be conducted in some of the units in which votes were cancelled for alleged irregularities.
The affected local governments are : Orolu, Osogbo, Ife South and Ife North, making four local governments in all.

ReplyDeleteUseless people!...
Adeleke is actually loved... I hope apc wont do wat dey did in ekiti state...
ReplyDeleteOther candidates with lesser votes should join hands and support Adeleke so as to push APC out!...
ReplyDeleteIf APC had won by 1 vote, they would have declared them winner.
ReplyDeleteShame!
We now see a little difference between APC and PDP. A state with an incumbent governor, PDP loses, election will stand, APC loses, oh well, problem dey

I don't even know how APC had up to 100 votes let alone over 200k votes in Osun State despite how the incumbent ran Osun state to the ground! Nigerians are Nigeria's greatest problem! Shame!
ReplyDeleteDemocracy under this government is DemoCRAZY. How will people see who is the cause of their woes and take that person back. Rauf failed OSUN people, APC failed Nigerians. APC isnt wanted in NIGERIA again. Its common sense for goodness sake.
