Governor Rauf Aregbesola authorised the release of the money for payment of four months salary of the workers as well as pensioners.
A statement signed the Commissioner for Finance, Bola Oyebamiji, on Tuesday said the governor had approved the release of nineteen billion, eight hundred and one million, three hundred and twenty-eight thousand, two hundred and seventy-one naira, twenty-two kobo for disbursement to the workers and pensioners.
The workers are being owed a backlog of salaries, with some cadre receiving only portions of their pay. The state government applauded the workers “for their perseverance and commitment to the state despite the lean finances of Osun.
The state has the money. They were keeping it because of election. Well, we are glad to hear the news but that will not change the candidate we are voting for come September 22,” said Musibau Raji, a teacher in Gbongan.

ReplyDeleteThey will still vote for him. Mtcheeewwwww
ReplyDeleteI am happy the workers will now smile and feed their families but at the same time why will a governor hold on to the salaries of his state people and sleep well at night? 4 months salary in these hard times when even one month no de reach anything .Oh he was saving it for election hoping he will come back again or what? They don't understand that things like these will even endear the people to them and vote for them. But no, selfishness and greed no gree dem see clear.

ReplyDeleteEveryone knew this is what will happen. It's when elections are at the door they begin to do last minute pacification.
ReplyDeleteAs much as we don't want a dancing governor, APC isn't a good choice either
After 24months or so? Why are this people this wicked? How do they feel, eating, sleeping paying their bills, knowing workers cant do the same. People don't fear their creator. Every labourer deserves his/her wages. Don't owe any labourer, it brings curses. Rauf is just a minus... Heartless people who will never know peace or anything good.
ReplyDeleteHeartless politicians we have in this country,
