Different Shades Of Marriage...

They come in different colours........

Some wash their husband's clothes and it works for them. Others don't and amazingly it works for them too.

Some cook for their husband and it works for them. others don't and shockingly, it works for them.
Some are full time house wife and it works perfectly for them. others are not and trust me, it also works for them.

Some know their husband cheats and it works for them. others don't know and don't want to know and it works for them.

Some contribute to the upkeep of their home and it works for them, others don't and it also works for them.

Some are in distance relationship and it works for them, others are in a close relationship and it works for them.

Some sleep in the same room and it works for them, others don't and amazingly it works for them.

Every relationship works and will only work if everybody understands that no two marriages are the same, no two individuals are exactly the same, and no two situations are exactly the same.

Even when the situations are the same, the individuals are not and even if the individuals are the same, the circumstances surrounding those marriages are not the same.

We come online daily and read tons of articles about what people do in their marriage, the one that don't wash is calling the one that Washes a slave, the one that washes is calling the one that don't wash bad marriage (wife) material.

One of the major destruction to 21st century marriage is social media counselors, articles, posts and testimonies.

What works for you? How sure are you that the person you are copying is happy? My dear, you are not mad, you are not a slave, you are not rude for seeking happiness.

One of your major goal is to seek happiness and peace of mind in your marriage, it can only be gotten if you understand that even if your name Is Amaka married to Emeka, you are not the same as Your Amaka neighbor that her husband also bears Emeka. You guys are different and unique in your own ways.

Please while you read things online. Please know what works for you. It might sound stupid to others but provided you have peace of mind and you are happy, please stick to it.

Everybody have their own shares of challenges that comes with marriage and everyone has their different approach to it. If you must copy, know what you are copying, know who you married, know you are different.

Your marriage is not second hand, fake or outdated because you are not doing what people online says they are doing. How sure are you that they are doing it? Some will tell you to quit but they have been enduring for years even when theirs is worse than yours

Please have a mind of your own, know you are different and seek for peace of mind and happiness in your marriage. It all depends on what works for you.

    1. There is -it is called a "bible-print"
If you follow the "marriage manufacturer's prescriptions", it will work.
Marriage does not work when people abandon God or obtain it by deceit or
these days, what pastors join together for selfish gains.
Godly marriages work when the actors work it out.

    2. If you ask me, Religion, God, Bible, Quran, Torah, Carry church on head.. etc. It has nothing to do with marriage, if youre both not compatible, your marriage will fail like dundee in class

God is the author of marriage. So he has the blue print. You follow his principles it works, you flaunt it, it will fail.

  10. There is no formulae for marriage,i had a neighbour that used to wash his children clothes includin his wife's own every saturday nd this guy wuld wash in joy and they lived happy (they are religious)..My pastor likes things being neat,he wuld be sweepin and his wife go carry leg up,he even encourages men to help their wives at home nd he said on weddin day of their children, its he and his wife that wuld walk the child down the isle..My mum that used to wash all the washable,my dad singlet was all white and very neat,my dad left her for another woman, sometimes i see his cloth nd be like πŸ™† anyways my mum is in a good place now..Point of it all is there is,just do u.We have spouses that smoke together and lasted for years together,we have some that all na church together and dem no last..

  12. Also do not be fooled by all you see on SM and envy other couples against your own marriage. What seems perfect to you may not be so perfect.
I went to my in-laws bday/thanksgiving with my friend. When the wife who was the celebrant was giving her speech. I was busy wondering if it's same man I know and grew up with. The way she painted him as knight in shinning armour, she has never had cause to say "where are you", this that. My friend was busy tapping and cursing her own hubby.
My cousin wey no dey take eye see woman. Right infront of his wife he will be collecting my friends no in family functions. That I will be feeling embarrased for her and even warn my friends off him.
He even got kidnapped recently with his car but he was dropped off outskirts of town. They did a joint thanksgiving. My husband told me it was actually infront of his babes house they snatched the car. Though financially he is all out for his family. The woman doesn't work and he very generous.

  13. True. Your marriage is yours, dont compare it with others. All that glitters is not gold. Most of the stories are cooked to make us believe what they want us to not what is truly Happening in their home. Work it or walk it. It's your choice.

  14. Thank u for this. No one knows the right way a marriage, child rearing etc should be. That is why I try not to give advice. What works for me may not work for u. People look at my hubby and I and think we r so cute. They don’t know what we take from each other to make it seem so. Like I always say, to each his own!!!

  15. I don’t cook, don’t wash, have tons of domestic staff, am a full time housewife, have only 2 children and have been married quite happily to a great guy for 20 yrs. I am tired of people judging my way of life and trying to tell me what to do and how I’m less of a woman as I’m just eating my husbands money. Let everyone do what works for them. This works for me!!!

  17. Even pastors with huge followers like Oyakhilome dey divorce. I rest my case. No one size fits all.

  18. I think people are misconstruing what the poster meant, especially in this era of 'emphasis me'.
What works shouldn't be all about you but what keeps the family happy. The happiness of the family is the emphasis and sacrifices are made to that regard.
    Nice one
