Actress Ebube Nwagbo Tells Us How She Deals With Marriage Pressure...

Nollywood star, Ebube Nwagbo, has opened up on how she deals with pressures from people for her to settle down.

The Anambra State-born movie producer and businesswoman said that though she longs to get married and raise her own family soon, she won’t rush into it just for the sake of pleasing people.

Speaking with Saturday Beats earlier in the week, Nwagbo said that her upbringing and fear of God has helped her maintain a controversy-free life.

She said, “The pressure of marriage comes but I am happy for the type of parents and family members I have. They all understand that marriage is not a decision I have to make in a hurry. I try to let everybody know that deciding who to marry has to be done right and at the appropriate time as well. I have learnt to deal with this pressure by not allowing whatever people say to bother me.

As a person, I try to be the best that I can. I come from a very strict Christian background. My parents always tell me never to forget where I am coming from and I never forget that. The training they gave me has helped in shaping the woman I am today. Being a star comes with a lot of pains. There are people in the society who want to control your life and make you live in a certain way. But the truth is that you can’t please everyone. Sometimes you have to be yourself and this could be misunderstood. It’s a price we have to pay for being in the limelight.”

She said, “The idea of Poshed Up came following weeks of soul-searching and brainstorming. I like to try out new things and look good as a person. What I have done is just recreate my looks and putting it out there for people to appreciate. I regard myself as a creative designer.

“As a businesswoman, I have learnt to read widely. I have had to learn from those who have been successful in business and see how I can replicate that in my venture. My best ideas come at bedtime. In that relaxed state, I get to search my inner self and come up with ideas truly amazing. The fashion industry in Nigeria is huge, I am trying to create something good that others can benefit from as well.”

  10. Ebube I wish you well but the problem with waiting for that perfect man is you may never find one.
I was balanced on this table before. I wanted rich, drop dead georgeous, abroad educated etc. I dated some didn't work out but I also rejected many suitors along the way.
As you get older, the men drop because from 34-40 are all married or engaged. As I clocked 33 I saw only married men from 34-44 were approaching me. Rich yes but they were married.
So I met one guy finally, cute, not as rich as I was used to but he had a good enough job. We earn roughly the same.We work together to provide for our little family.

  11. Ebube I know from childhood/ Fegge Onitsha. Was a moderate lifestyle girl. From a poor background. But was always a girl who stood out. She’s lucky with nollywood considering her local background. But she’s been level headed just same way I knew her way back. Ebube should be 1982 or 1981 so age is neither here or there for her and as a typical Anambra girl I believe she should settle as quickly as she see an average man. Every well to do guy if that age is married! So Nne, open ur eyes and face reality.. leave this ur celebrity colleagues dat enjoy deceiving themselves and living fake and remember d background u came from. Last last u will b alright if u focus on getting urself a sharp guy with a future instead of looking for an already made.
