  2. I am from Anambra but my NYSC was in Oyo State. Initially I was skeptical but being a foodie I tried Amala and Ewedu soup around U.I. Years later I was in Ibadan for a conference and had to go back there. I looove Amala and Ewedu. Didn't try gbegiri though. Tried banga soup but not owoh or starch. Seeing people battle with cutting the starch put me off.

    1. I served in Oyo state. IITA in ibadan and there was this place we would go to eat amala, gbegiri and ewedu with Goat meat or orisirisi: it was heavenly.
I miss eating in bukas, nothing like it. Another thing I miss so much is Agege bread and Ewa agoyin especially when the beans is put inside the bread.

  5. Abula is the healthiest meal of traditional Nigerian food combinations. The Amala is the healthiest swallow, while Ewedu and Gbegiri is really good for you. The stew is mostly tomato and is great for you too.

  11. The sight of this food alone de make me dizzy. Not to talk of that gbegiri. The greenish look de turn my belle. I cannot be caught eating it. Even if hunger de wire my belle. I have tried to eat it but I froze the day I stood in front of the seller who was busy spinning the gbegiri with all its draw-draw and could not even say what I wanted. The woman just de vex sey I de waste her time as I was undecided. . Naa. I will pass on it any time and any day. I cant even watch anyone eating the gbegiri in my presence cos I go just embarrass myself. In my place stew is stew and not in any form called soup. Not for me sha. But amala any day, I will grab with all my power. Lol.
