 FROM THE COMMENT SECTION

How do I convince my mother in-law that my house help is not a witch?.

Apparently, she came to our house when the girl I brought from the village was barely a month old in my house. I agree she looked unkept and unruly (given the fact that she has been in the village and from a very poor home. Has 7 siblings and a widow mum)
My mother in-law was not impressed by her and she appeared not to respect MIL as we all do.

She complained and says she is not comfortable with her watching her grandkids. She stayed with us for some weeks, during which she had a revelation that she is a witch. Insists I send her back to her mum.
MIL is a very nice person and loves people alot, but she never misses any opportunity to tell off anybody whose vibe she doesn't like.

Now, the said girl is well trained having stayed with me for some months now. She is well behaved and looks neat. I have enrolled her in a school to start this September. Her mum is overjoyed at her transformation and she praises us. She has become the envy of all in her village. To them, we are Godsent.

MIL had since gone back to her base in US and is not aware of her transformation. She still has that impression of her as a witch. She spoke with me recently and said she is disappointed in me, that I kept a witch to watch her grandkids.

My so friendly and nice MIL has kept distance from me and somehow extended to my kids.

How do I send this girl back to her poor mum?(whom we now pay monthly). How can I even convince MIL that she has changed. (I try but she gets furious each time).
Her son is indifferent, says the decision is all mine.

She feels I do not pray for my family enough, that is why God has not revealed the girl to me. (she is very religious and 'sees' things).
Hmmmmmmm. How do I handle this?.

*what is all this attachment to the girl?are you bewitched or blind?send the girl back to her mum but continue helping them out......don't risk your kids oooooooooooh....witchcraft no dey show for face!!!

PINKYS SIDE TALK

SISI ⭕LOGE

Sisi Ologe, please pardon my lack of courtesy or perhaps my write ups that may appear boring.

I have watched over the years and failed to speak but maybe these new trends, have led me to the peak.

Why have you failed to give your head a rest?

Is what you have on your head a hair style or a bird’s nest? No! I am not against your usual cat walk but this long nails portray you as a typical village hawk.

Your deceitful suitors see a damsel after your facial painting. Honestly, all I see is a Chinese doll meant for female babies to play with. A thousand high heels won’t change a dwarf’s destiny and your combination of lavender endangers with intensity.

He won’t tell you that path you are walking is bad and knew the moment he shares with you won’t last.

Expensive hairstyles won’t conceal your faults.

You had the worst score the last time I checked the league board. I will tell you the result of my rigorous research and if you turn deaf ears, it’s nothing new.

Men only pretend that they like bad ladies but

don’t pray for them to become the mothers of their children.

If your moves are simply to impress a man, then I think you have moved too far from reality.

On this note, just as a fish will never leave the sea to seek a mate on land, so also will you only attract your type as a man.

Bv Adeniji

VALUES AND TRENDS #MyOpinion

Dear Stella,

It is very easy to condemn young girls who follow suit their friends and indulge in 'runz' and drugs...we see how the competition on social media to slay has become deafening.

We wonder where the world is headed and how these generation and the next got the negative vibes from?...

Little wonder as most of these traits originated from homes...

In cases where you see a low-class family sending her kids to peep into the neighbour's pot of soup to know what kind of 'animal' they used..And the next day, that same mother rushes to the market to buy and cook thesame!

There have been cases of even men stealing looks at their neighbour's yet to be unleashed posh ride so he can also take a loan to buy thesame or better!

These individuals have children who grow up believing that is how life should be.They become the room mates who copy everything you do even to buying same panties like yours.

Out of frustration, some pilfer and destroy those things they are unable to purchase for themselves. These trends leads them to human theft itself... from man snatching to becoming permanent side-vultures.

Men are also not left out of the game, they violently compete and socially rub it on each other's faces... from rides, designer watches, apartments, women, gadgets, fancy vacation, contracts etc....

The westernized way of approaching this would be therapy. Not many sick people accept to being unwell. Especially when they see no wrong in their actions.

In Africa, competition is seen as a motivating factor to improve on yourself BUT with a splash of low-self esteem and anger, the essence of improvement is defeated!

Instead, diabolical means to destroy what you can't steal or steal what you can't have becomes the next viable option...

Let's imbibe a contentment culture and create good legacies for the coming generation...

*Everybody does it doesn't make it right*

Nail on the head!!!

DO YOU HAVE FIRST AID AT HOME?

When my son was two years old, he choked on a lollipop. In what were the scariest few minutes of my life, I tried to make him cough a few times but failed. I then ran out the back door, holding my son and screaming for my neighbour, who is an emergency first aider. Luckily, she heard me, ran over and saved my son's life. As a family, we now take the possibility of choking much more seriously. Believe me: It can happen in a split second, and if it does, you’ll want to be prepared.

Mummy,daddy,school owners,creche owners,nannies,caregivers,caterers...

  3. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it in to something positive. Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. There are no limits.

  9. So I just read spontaneous post about people who put their life on social media.

And i say Let people do their thing.

Do you know why one can spend hours reading people's timelines? It's because they put up something.

Imagine if everyone had a page as private and empty ? Wouldn't you be done in less than 5 minutes?

I don't have an Instagram account, all the gists that happen on Instagram, I read here.
Imagine that all what was on Instagram was inspirational quotes or what else you all consider as the ideal to put on social media accounts.

    How boring would that be?

Some people don't have friends to talk to, friends who will be genuinely happy for them, some people derive joy seeing people "awwwww" and "like" their posts and yes some people want the whole world to see what's going on with them.

They are happy doing that! Leave them alone!

That people update everything that goes on in their life doesn't mean they are sad. That your timeline is dry doesn't mean you are mature!

For all we know, you could be suffering from low self-esteem or you probably think your life ain't worth that much to put up.

You all will say you don't keep friends.
You all will say you don't upload your lives on social media.

You all will say you don't tell anybody your good/happy times.

    Hian!
I wonder who put a standard to these things!

It's called SOCIAL MEDIA for a reason!

    5. Sometimes, some of the show-ups is for a purpose. When I lost my job my colleagues thought it was over for me. I know must of them were kinda happy because I was earning more than them the first year I came in and almost all of them had been working for years and still earning little because they came in with HND and even after getting Bsc they were still not converted. So we that came in with Bsc were paid higher. When my salary was increased again they got to know and some of them were making funny comments. Some didn’t even hide it that they were not happy about it. So when I was asked to go, am sure some were happy. Within that period I left I got married but didn’t post because it was just bride price that was paid so most people didn’t know. But when my husband got me a Jeep, I had to video myself driving and posted just to show that I still have a better life and it’s not over for me. Most of them came to my page and were ‘awwing’ and ‘ooohing’ and saying ‘how are you’ ‘longest time’. I found closure in that because I felt people especially my former colleagues now know that life is not treating me bad. I’m not a picture person and I hardly post on social media but if something big happens for me I will so post so that both friends and foes alike will see.

I sometimes check out people’s pages like secondary school friends and people I don’t talk to anymore just to know what’s up with them. What ever I see on their page is how I feel their lives are.

I heard a friend recently relocated abroad and I have been checking her instagram and Facebook yet she has not posted anything and it’s kinda frustrating. Till I see her pictures, I won’t believe 😜

It's people like you that I enjoy making run mad.
Because my life will be one story and my social media pages will tell another story.
While you are doing night and day vigil on my social media pages with pen,pencil,3D notepad and umbrella waiting for the scraps I throw out, I don already reach faaaaaar ahead. Faaaaaaaar ahead.

Can you confidently come out in front of people **not behind keyboard** and boast that there is no particular thing in your body **both internal and external** that you wish was different from the way it is now?

Can you create a perfect human being?

That thing in which you are proud of today, you can lose it through an unpleasant situation.

That's how your MIL wants to keep a whole family in penury forever.

What if that girl is the key to bringing out her family from poverty through you?

Witch? If she was a witch, she would have killed your MIL since forever.

People will be acting like witches and calling other people witches.

If a girl who hasn't done anything to you is suddenly hated by you for looking poor.
    That's the height of witchcraft.

Joseph was a slave; a bought slave in portiphar's house but the bible records that portiphar's house prospered because God was with Joseph!

So if you are given a choice between saving your family and bringing prosperity to a girl who has the potential to wreak havoc on your family, you will choose the latter. When things go south for her after taking your advice, chances are you will crawl into a shell and act like you are not reading. Be careful and guided, life is not to be trivialized, let her take her spiritual life very seriously first. Send the girl packing and help her from afar. All this babalawos that make people rich, why haven't the people they make rich pulled them out of poverty or are they all blind too. Madam witch housegirl, don't joke with what your MIL said. To do that will be disastrous. I have heard stories of a niece inlaw whose mum initiated into witchcraft being sent to to a particular SIL to destroy her family. She had a 7month old daughter and this 14yr old witch kept peeing in her babies food before serving the little girl. This little girl was always ill, from one hospital to the other no prognosis. They spent millions of Naira on medical bills yet no solution. Unknown to them she was a bloodbank for their niece in law and her mother to feast on.

To cut a long story short, her pastor got the revelation but wanted her to see for herself. He asked her to embark on a seven days fast with midnight prayers. She did this, although reluctantly. On the seventh day she was on the bed romancing her husband while she asked the girl to go prepare food for her daughter. She was about having a good time with her husband but her spirit was not at ease, she stood up and headed to the kitchen without a reason for heading to that direction. Lo and behold, in the middle of the kitchen was her niece in law squatting over the pap meant for her daughter and peeing inside it. You can imagine the rest. This world is deep, good information is the key to survival, stay woke.

    6. @Bipolar Me, thank you and God bless you for your outlook on this issue. You nailed it. Just my exact thoughts but without time to frame a response as logical and scripturally-based as yours. One would think with the MIL exposure in obodo-oyibo, she'd lend a better /higher solution, especially, for an indigent girl-child. Whosai? Yet, the MIL compounds the issue bcos that's what witches themselves do: confusion, strive, distrust, pain and everything ungodly but they go under cover of seeing spiritual things. Who is fooling who?

I now have it here but am i supposed to just cook it or how? Because it wasnt fully dried, some of them have these green fungus on it, do i discard those ones or boil?
Basically how do you prep it

Wash them properly before boiling for at least 30 minutes before drinking

    3. I don't know how come yours was bought wet, the ones I have seen are dried and tied together.

For me, I just rinse it out, put in a pot, add water and pt uon fire for like 20-30 mins. The colour must have changed to 'Lipton' colour, pour out a cup and drink while hot.

Don't discard the aju, keep it in a cool dry place and repeat when u have exhausted the one u boiled.

Since yours is wet already, maybe just rinse it and boil, after keep it in a place where it would dry.

      Delete
    4. thank you for the reply. Yes Green fungus ohh. Though i have also put it out to dry here since i recieved them. So do i discard the ones with green fungus or just wash the fungus off? and do i wash it with hot water or soak it with hot water?

      Delete
    5. My dear, throw that thing away. Was it not supposed to be dry?? Order the dry one from Chidera and follow the instructions she gave. Do not prep and drink the wet one before you get sick. If you are in the US be careful before they quarantine you because of the after effects of the green fungus.

  18. Madam with house help, please send that girl back and help her from afar to avoid stories that touch. What an elder sees sitting,a child won't see it even if you climb tree.I had a distance relative whose mum begged to take in and I agreed because hubby was on course and I'm alone at home. She came and I enrolled her in a private school and got all her books,I drop her in the morning and pick her up.We do homework together. She was 11 years old and couldn't wash plate without me complaining,I don't eat dinner but I still make her food and she won't wash the plate till the following day,I corrected her till I stopped. My sister came to visit and couldn't take all her dirty habits so she was always correcting her.I traveled and took her to my brothers place to stay and she told my brothers nanny that when my sister came to my house, she was always complaining about plate not being clean and she wished she could just kill her because my sister was frustrating her.I was perplexed and she didn't deny it.I sent her back in July and the mother has called me to pls take her back,I asked them to look for school in their state and I will pay.Any child who can think of killing someone because of plates and other corrections can kill me too.Help from afar

    1. It is always other poor people's children that are witches. Your own children no fit be winch abi?

You should be ashamed of yourself for hiring small girls as maids, instead of adults that are old enough to be employed.

You people will come with the pretense that you are helping out with their education, as if you can not help from a distance.

Instead of employing girls over 18, una go dey fear the dog wey una marry keep for house, dey carry small children wey suppose dey play with their mates that are probably not much older than your own kids to do maid.

After all dem be poor people children, so na dem dey be winch material.

    4. Reasonable doubt don't you think you can put your point across without much hostility? If I get you right, do you mean little kids can't be possessed? We live in a world anything is possible but truth be told, I abhor carrying of kids to do chores in the guise of training them in school. It's so wrong. You can still give them better education wherever they are if you are touched. Please I will crave your indulgence to always tone down in reacting to peoples opinion, most times you sound hard and harsh. Every opinion mustn't be the same.

      Delete
    5. Reasonable Doubt, Sometimes, these things are blown out of proportion but the writer above had a personal experience. Why all this?
This issue of underage help didn’t start today and will not stop today either due to the level of poverty in the country. Until the government revamps the educational sector and introduce free education so the poor can send their kids to School, this issue of underage help ain’t going nowhere.
      Be nice!!

      Delete
    6. Is it your hostility?

Seer of things, yet you people don't ever see anything good, it is only how to see witches and enemies of progress that you're good for.

      Delete
    7. @Reasonable doubt, you raised a very salient point. Why is it that it is the children of the poor who are always deemed as witches. Yes, why do so many married women who preach Christianity are happy to employ underaged workers in their homes? There is a lot of hypocrisy in the culture, it is sad how the poor is set upon to be labeled with every negativity. If being a child witch is passed down through the bloodline, then it cannot only be the poor who suffer from this affliction.

      Delete
    8. @Reasonable Doubt, stand your ground bcos you are on the right side of this matter. No mind all them mother-witches abi grand wizards wey full here but are quick to call poor, innocent kids witches for no just reason.

You take in children that should be growing up and cage them in your houses, forming that you are helping with their education, as if you can not be charitable to them while they are with their parents.

Calling them witches, and prostitutes that are trying to steal your husbands, yet will not leave them alone.

You people will go to Church and pray the loudest. That God that you claim to serve, that is always revealing these witches will still be the one judging all of you for your wickedness.

    1. exactly my thoughts....the poster up there said her mil noticed the girl was looking dirty and it makes me wonder how she looks after the child.
There are 2 popular fb groups where women are often posting about their marital lives and woes and alot of other posts about their 7 year old help or 8 year old help that was brought from the village to "help" them with their new born and how the 7yr old doesnt do anything, steals etc and i wonder if between 2 grown up adults (husband and wife) that choose to procreate, you people cannot look after your baby, why do you expect a 7 year old CHILD not ADULT ohh, CHILD to be able to do all these...i strongly believe if Nigeria enforces the child slavery act or insists that these people exploiting children pay a proper wage to these children, there would be less child abuse cases.

    2. Leave them alone. Sometimes, that’s the only choice they have. Some are brought by In Laws, begging you to take them in.

    3. Thank You!
Its irritating when you see women employing 9 year olds as maids because every maid 15 and above is a husband snatcher and prostitute, forgetting that innocent girl came to work
they wont allow them enter their bedroom or wash their husband's clothes but they can allow them feed their children and stay alone with them.lmao
while its very good to pray for before you carry house helps, the excessive suspicion of madams on their house helps is very annoying.
Make friends with your house helps and allow them to feel at home around you
So that when your husbands start preying around them, they can confide in your without fear of being tagged a lair and home breaker.

      Delete
    4. Don't mind them. What they don't expect their children to do, another person's child be just fine doing.

They will tag these children with all kinds of names imaginable, yet they won't stop employing them.

They like little children because they are young enough to be intimidated, and probably wont fight back when being abused, and obviously cheaper too.

Hire an adult and pay proper wages they won't. Evil people.

      Delete
    5. Reasonable doubt you’ve said it properly.
All of them that carry these kids as maid to enslave them and call them witches ; if you dare call their children such derogatory name; I’m sure all hell will let loose.
Madam poster if you truly want to help that child, help with her education and go get an adult as a help.
Your mil needs Christ in her life, she’s not yet born twice. Which vision is she seeing??!!!
Calling another woman’s child a witch is pure evil.

Poverty you are a bastard!! It’s because of you that this innocent kid is called a witch. Chai!!

I thought bakers and chefs are tested in the kitchen on their interview, so what does it matter if the baker is 28 or 45,as long as they are well skilled. Why are Nigerian employers so fixated on age instead of skill?

I don't deny the health benefits part but I know that a guy who sleeps naked is sexually active and no convincing will make him not to touch you if you mistakenly go to his crib. I am correct, right? Pls someone should answer. When a guy tells you he loves to sleep naked always . What does it mean

    ReplyDelete

    1. Well, they still sell thick cotton night gowns with long sleeves, high neck and long straight to the ankle. If you don't want to sleep with a man then dress the part and sleep in a different room that has a lock. If you cannot resist temptation them do not sleep at his place ever. We are not all made with the same level of strength to resist temptation so best not to be in the environment that will lead to temptation to begin with. Sex does not only happen at nights, so even in the daytime do not go to his home alone.

Men are naturally hotter in body temperature than women, so many men do sleep naked to stay cool. There is no real meaning in someone sleeping in the nude, it's normally ppl who hate to get hot in bed who do it. I don't sleep nude because I prefer to be much warmer in bed to get a deep sleep.
