Sunday In House Gists - Make Up Brouhaha

Are you a make up 'Junkie'?

Do you believe in heavy or light makeup or none at all?Is your make up belief just who you are or based on your Religion/Faith?

Some men hate make up and are presently ticking off women who love make up from their list...
Some marry women who wash their faces the morning after to reveal a total stranger..
On the other hand, wearing make up has affected some women positively and given them so much self confidence that they CANNOT do without it.....

There are different levels of make up and the one i refer to as 3rd degree make up is the one that requires layers upon layers of foundation to bring out the beauty inside you..........Some people wear this kind of make up all day,everyday.....!

I like make up but heavy make up irritates my face..I am good to go with some eyeliner,my red lipstick, light mascara and nothing else...Truth is,I don't know how to wear make up but i am not complaining!

What is your take on this make up thing as a man or woman? Is it big deal for you or means nothing?

This might sound like a non interesting topic but i know a man that walked out of his new Marriage because of the amount of make up his new wife moved in with..............she refused to get rid of some, insisting they were all very expensive.....na wah!

Do you now anyone affected by a make up Ban at work or at home?
Can you go a day without make up?
Do you wear make up even at home?Go to bed with make up?
Has your partner ever seen your real face?LMAO!

Lets gist ojare!

    3. Light make-up for work. Just powder eye-liner,mascara and lip gloss.
But when it comes to parties I am a make-up queen. If it's a big party I go to a make-up artist. But a small party,I do a very red lip, foundation, blush and the works.
I'm a girly girl. No harm getting glam once in a while.

    4. Natural beauty is a myth for some lightskin, chocolate ladies or ladies that bleached their skin.Aside from Ebony ladies(they rarely have dark circles, pimples or spots on their face).80% of women really on makeup to feel confident and beautiful.Even Kim Kardashian,Kylie,Beyonce look totally different without makeup. Especially Kim.She looks regular and basic without it with ugly dark circles.ladies,if you love makeup and know how to apply it well(not the one foundation and powder will be looking like something else, wrong shade, terrible eyebrows, horrible lipstick) Don't let anybody shame you.All these men that claim they don't like makeup,It's because you look like Karishika after you are done. You better slay!!!!Ignore these men oh.Some of them will make you stop and cheat on you with girls that do all these.Look good for yourself and feel confident. And if you look good without makeup, good for you.Don't shame the ones that don't .

    6. I’m with beds and roses. Make up to work is powder eyeliner and nude lips. Then I have the I’m going to see my friend make up where I add blush to that . Party make up is full blown makeup although I still don’t need to do layers of foundation. My skin is all same colour nothing to cover tbh.

    7. My husband claims not to like make up but his girlfriends ‘when I catch him all have heavy make up and thick weave on. Now I make up the way I want. It was in the beginning I used to listen to him. Now I do it to make myself happy. And the funny thing is I’m even a very light make up person.

  2. I've always loved it light. Powder, (no foundation or any other thing), eyeliner (I'm good with the cat eye style), lip gloss (I can use lipstick but I'll make it very light). I have full eyebrows so I usually just shape it (you'll think I applied pencil).

Most days, I go without anything. I have a smooth face so...

  7. Stella I love this topic oo! When I was growing up my mother was a make up freak. We played with her makeup, she has different different types of lipstick then. My father liked my mom when she makes up and looks nice but my father will tell my mom to get ready 3 hours before the time they are going for any dinner party or function because of her makeup so that they won't be late! I like makeup too but I dont know how to use or blend any powder on my face I just get confused lol. My sisters know how to use powder Wella! But most times I use my real face without makeup. My husband likes makeup but not too much oo! I give it up to Yoruba women especially Ijebu I called them painters or body fillers they can put foundation for Africa ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  9. Make up really helps some women look charming. I mean no disrespect here before some keypad warriors decend on me. There was a lady those days I used to crush on so heavily but the day I saw her one morning without make up, my crushing ended lolzx. It was that day I know that make up can hide lines on a woman face and actually make her look too beautiful.

I love light make up for a woman but not the too colorful ones but something good. I don't like heavy red lipstick on women, to me it is a turn off. What I love so much on women is the fragrance of the body spray and good scent of body. I have like for ebony colors of women that apply just good cream and soft touch of makeup.

  15. Different strokes o jareh. I hardly use makeup mostly out of laziness and I'm already a fine geh na lol. Infact the powder I got in 2015 is not showing any signs of depleting, I had to get another one before I’d get craw craw on my face. Don’t mind all these yeye men that claim that prefer natural ladies, na lie! They still run after the shiny, emulsion paint girls. Men are definitely attracted to what they see and they love flashy. A girl with her face beat on fleek, nails did, 24 inch weave laid, 6 inch heels on point will get more attention than a barefaced girl with natural hair in a pair of jeans and top so men should save that their nonsense “team natural” story.
I sha envy those girls with mad make up skills. Me I no get the time nor the energy to learn lol. Makeup a once in a blue moon and it’s nothing so fleeky. I remember when I got my face done by all those professional MUAs for a wedding and when my ex bf saw me, he was so shocked ๐Ÿ˜‚ Nigga could hardly recognize me and he was like “so this is how girls go around deceiving innocent guys” ๐Ÿ™„ whatever that means

The boys in the family were hailing this new bride eh and the thing come begin dey vex me sef๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ We waited and waited oooo, aunty nor gri come.My uncle went to meet his son o, dey para say wetin dey happen. Aunty finally came,y'all need to see the way they(boys) were screaming "Jesus"๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… , some couldn't even recognise the bride for her face was a playground for pimples. ...they started attributing the pimples to not allowing her face to rest and yabbing her๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… hehehehehe, I told them to mind their business, that as long as her husband wasn't complaining, then they shouldn't complain or disturb my ears๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

    1. The bride already has a problematic facial skin. Using make up like foundation, brown powder, concealer, primer may cover the pimples but they only worsen the acne no matter how much the inventors claim it's for oily skin.

For those of us with oily skin, we are more prone to acne. Stay away from all those rubbing rubbing of things on your facial skin, it only blocks your pores. You can use eye liner, eye pencil for the brow, lipstick, eye shadow as make up. These ones do not need to be rubbed on your pores thus causes no breakout.

Your mission should be how to clear your skin by getting good chemical exfoliators. (Lactic acid is good for oily skin). Take lot of water, fruits, less oil and sugar. A gel based or water based moisturiser is good for oily skin. Also go for mild facial wash and cleanser. Some of those facial cleansers for oily skin are too harsh abeg.

You will actually see an improvement and there will be no need to pile layers of foundation and what have you.

Some women are trying sha. That foundation shit irritates my skin. ..

Then nothing concern me and make up if im home or in my neighborhood.

Sometimes i wish i have a spotless skin so that i only use makeup when necessary๐Ÿ˜Š. (I always admire people with spotless skin.)

Face is flawless without makeup. Did have dark areas so introduced gycolic acid by mario B few weeks back and bodyshop aloe cream and skin is super flawless and one colour.

I dont wear makeup everyday tho espscially when my period is close i just feel oily around that time.

I work in an office and trust me dress how you want to be addressed but i shock em atleast once a month with no makeup haha.

My brows are natural, thank God because i kent draw to save a soul. I never wear fake lashes as in never ever. But my makeup is always superlit, got this signature nude lip combo(mac lip pencils) and sleek vamp is my fave red lippy followed by mac sin๐Ÿ˜

Foundation: estee lauder(double wear), Mac( trying to finish off my mac collection because mac foundation is not good for the skin -matchmaster), clinique( bought the even better glow just on wed haha)and my fave Lancome.

Concealer: Estee Lauder and LA girl pro concealer

    Contour: sleek contour kit

    Setting powder: sacha the bestest

    Blusher: mac raizin

    Highlighter: makeup revolution baked bronzer

Setting spray: makeup revolution oil control fixing spray.

Takes me 20mins in the morning to beat this face and good to go.

But I invest in quality makeup brands for major stuff, as my face tends to be quite finicky.

My problem is lipstick, especially liquid lipsticks, I buy and my sisters will just come and pack everything, and foolishly I will buy again.

Since I found out that color pop, Sephora, Macy’s ship to Nigeria eh, all my money has finished buying lipsticks and glosses all the time.

The funny thing is I wear light makeup, and most times I end up a favorite that I wear more than the others.

  40. I'm a make up person. I'm a makeup artist but not commercial...at least not yet (my sisters & friends are my MUSE) I still love my office job..hehehehhe

I've always loved makeup since my secondary schl days.. my dad never supported it, he doesn't like makeup. He told me many times to go learn tailoring instead but my love for looking good was stronger, so, when I went to uni, it gave me more freedom to learn more.

Presently, I exhaust my data on IG videos & YouTube learning new tricks & reviews on products. I'm good with gele too.

Every morning I ensure my brows are well carved & perfectly concealed, infact in my office, my colleagues ask me when do I wake up to achieve such level of glam face & still resume early? lol

Once my brows are good, minimal foundation & concealer, I blend it all up & I'm good to go.
Once or twice a week, I go makeup free especially Sundays to allow my skin breathe. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Yes, my men (past & present) are familiar with my makeup free face & when I'm glamed up..

I intend to go into full blown makeup business as soon as I'm tired of my office job. (I still need the money) lol

I dream of having my own cosmetics line..anything beauty related..

  48. I love makeup, its like an art to me, i like to try new things on my face and admire or criticize the outcome.... I go out with heavy make up(most times)/ or light depending on my mood....
Go out with no make up at all only when i'm on my monthly flow, or when i'm ovulating...these two make me behave like a pregnant woman.
