Six Month Old Baby Found Abandoned...

Why go through all the stress only to throw the baby away?

A six-month-old baby who was abandoned in the forest in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area by an unknown person has been recovered.

Ibanga who discovered the baby around 5pm on Friday evening said he suspects that the baby may have been dumped there not quite long before he took the route. The little boy was crying helplessly...

Ibanga reported at Obosi police division, where he made the complaint to officers on duty ....

The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed told journalists that the complainant led Police detectives attached to the juvenile and welfare unit of the division to the scene where the baby was dumped.

He said the baby had been given primary care and handed over to an undisclosed motherless baby’s home in the area for further care.

Haruna said investigations had started in order to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident, and that efforts were ongoing to trace the biological mother of the baby.

    1. Maybe because she cant take care of herself let alone a child? There should be safe havens provided in Nigeria whereby if you feel the need to abandon a child, you should be able to go and drop your child in these places without fear of arrest or judgement and without fear of people asking you stupid questions like "why" or judgements like "God go pinish you" Believe it or not being a mother myself one of the hardest decisions ay mother could ever make is to abandon their child. Personally i could never even fathom it but the question shouldnt be why all the time because obviously it happens quite often in Nigeria than we think but as a nation we should be able to provide safe havens for people who cant take care of their kids and feel the need to abandon them. All na poverty join. And maybe when people start paying taxes instead of tithes, social amenities like these will be readily available. Thank you and please digest the message.

    1. How do you know this? Everyday women are raped, young girls are molested in the home by their fathers, please do not jump to conclusions.

  8. As the reality of post natal depression has been discussed here recently, it is possible that a mother so affected could do this. But yet, there are some who do such out of plain wickedness, which is something I would never understand.

  9. but when we tell them to abort it, people will come for our heads. If you can't go through it all zip up, if you can't zip up, use a condom, if belle enters, shoot it out, instead of subjecting the baby to such harsh conditions.

  11. Circumstances are unclear so I will reserve my judgment. It is good that the child was found safe and turned over to the orphanage.
