    2. You do the crime, you serve the time. Fighting over land is a very horrible thing as it forces a good person to commit horrendous crime.

    2. Land ends very bad in most cases. And maybe this land they fought and killed over belong to their fathers, not land they bought with their own money.

  7. Back to the matter. Na wa. He wasn't given life sentence so why are they leaving him to spend the rest of his days there?
He was given a death sentence. Execute him or let him go. The past 17 years must have been more of a torture than a swift execution if you know what I mean.

  15. The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones. The law must take it's course, as it's pinnacles are purely blind.

  21. So the little devil was killing people at 83yrs. Who knows how many other people he has killed in his prime. Let him remain there and let justice prevail. For the known and unknown victims. I don’t care about his age. Happy Birthday to him sha.

  22. This is sad and cases like these need to be reviewed, not just because he is old but a lot of people are languishing in prison over cases that a fine or minimal sentence can take care of but no they’d rather over populate the prisons.

    1. My dear what of the person he killed. Do you know how his widow and kids are feeling. Their breadwinner and protector gone. Some of these old men are wicked. All over land.
If you see what my dad's elder brothers showed us when my father died. We had to run away for 20 odd years.
Now we are all old and fighting for our father's property.
My wicked uncle who didnt even recognize any of us told us before he can leave a house my own father built, we the children have to build him another house.
We sold the house with him still living there when he refuse to leave.
My mum is convinced all those village people killed my father out of jealousy because of his wealth.
This old man killed someone. Had it been he just stole. I would say release him
But I don't pity people that shed blood despite their age.

  24. I do not mean to sound insensitive, but all of you shouting this is so touching, the govt should release him, have you asked urself, what of justice for his victim? What of the dead man’s family? He probably had kids whose destiny was changed due to the death of their father. I hope u would say this same thing if it was ur husband, brother or father that was the victim.

    2. Nigerians reason from both sides. Why would an old man like that go as far as killing a fellow human being over land and if he did, why should he go free? If you do the crime, you do the time no matter who you are. Don't be surprise he killed a relative.

    3. Some of these old men are very wicked. Just like my fathers elder brother that took over his property when he died.
He never for one day ask after his brothers children. In fact he wanted us away so that we will never ask of the properties.
Our first born has even passed on now. You don't want to know family battles when it comes to land and property.
      Some are willing to kill.
If you ask now. That their land may not be up to 1m and they killed in the process.

  27. Releasing may not be the best. Many prisoners released go back to crime. Most times when people stay in prison so long, they have no family left. I mean, their family may still be alive but they may have moved on with their lives and burdened with their own families. While he may have a new life in prison, with new friends and all he is used to. I may be wrong, But then, releasing him just based on sentiments is unconstitutional.
