Little Girl Stolen In Lagos Church Found In Benin!!

Family members of a missing four-year-old girl, Elo Ogidi, were overjoyed on Friday after she was found in an orphanage in Benin, Edo State.

Elo was reportedly stolen from the Christ Embassy in Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos State, during a church service she attended in company with her parents and their housemaid on Sunday, July 8, 2018.

Elo’s father, Okpogene Ogidi, who confirmed the development to Saturday PUNCH on Friday, said some suspects were also arrested.

The girl was with the maid during the church’s children thanksgiving service when she suddenly disappeared.

It was reported that the maid had gone to get Elo and her two siblings some slices of cake shared at the thanksgiving, but did not meet the girl on her seat when she returned.

A child, who also attended the programme, claimed to have seen a woman taking Elo away.

The case was reported at the Alausa Police Station and was later transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.

Punch gathered that the girl was traced to Benin by the police on Friday while some suspects were arrested in connection with her abduction.

Her father, Okpogene, who spoke briefly with punch on the telephone, said he had yet to be fully briefed on how she got to Benin.

He said, “She was found in Benin. We are going to pick her at the Edo State Police Command on Saturday (today). She was found in an orphanage. After it was reported in the media, somebody identified her and informed me.

“The police were alerted and she was found at the orphanage this evening (Friday).  We are very excited. I don’t have more details for now. I will get back to you.”

*I wonder how she got to Benin....I am sure she is older enough to tell her parents what happened and who took her.

    1. Na wah a child that jumped on her parents and siblings when she saw them. So the parents won't recognise their daughter again. Thank God with them and don't type nonsense.

    2. Nothing stop them from having CCTV there. If the kidnapper identity was revealed atleast someone may have come forward to identify her. And security will take note of her face incase she try it again.

    3. @ Anonymous 11:00, David actually made a very good point about the church beefing up its security so this doesn't happen again, especially to minors. What is your point other than stupidity and all that's ugly? WINGS

  7. Thank God she has been found.
I'm not trying to blame Christ Embassy but should they not have CCTV in the children's church atleast. It's not the first time such instances are reported in churches. It doesn't cost much to install one.
Parents if you do decide to remain in that church pls be careful. Those who took her may know the family and may not want her to reveal them. Pls change church but I know my people once they believe in one pastor that is the end.
I won't even allow such child go to children's church again. We will be joined at the hip or stay home and I teach you bible study myself if they refuse you staying with me in adult church.

    3. David nobody will insult anybody. Why are people so blinded by their human thinking. A group of people go to where they are taught the word, its working for them and they feel at home in that family. How's it your trouble.

  8. I'm so happy for her and her family and encouraged by their faith. When i first read bout her disappearance with the picture, I noticed tears rolling from my eyes. She looked too innocent. The parents kept holding on to God. So happy for all of them.

Hopefully she recalls what happened. Many times, some victims don't recall . I'm super excited
