Gov. Ganduje Frees Prison Inmates With N5k Allowance Each In Celebration of Eid El-Kabir
Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, on Sallah day, facilitated the freedom of 170 prison inmates from the Goron Dutse Prison and across the state.
Ganduje, who witnessed the release of the inmates from the Goron Dutse Prison, said the gesture was in the spirit of Eid-El-Kabir, adding that the gesture was to complement the Federal Government’s efforts to further reduce congestion in the nation’s prisons.
The governor, who gave each of the freed prison inmates N5,000 as transport fare to their respective destination, counselled them to change their attitude to life, as well as pray for peace and stability of Nigeria.
While pardoning the 170 inmates, Ganduje urged them to be of good behaviour, as well as use their new freedom to not only become useful to themselves but to the society at large
Nice one but giving them 5,000 and urging them to be good citizens isn't all that need to be done. Why not engage them on skills and empower them to start up from there. When the 5,000 finish, what next do you expect them to do?
