Federal Government Declares August 21 - 22 Public Holidays

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, Aug. 21, and Wednesday, Aug. 22 as public holidays to celebrate the 2018 Eid-el-Kabir.




The Minister of Interior, Retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the declaration on Thursday in Abuja in a statement issued by Dr Mohammed Umar, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry.


While wishing Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Dambazau enjoined the citizens to use the period to embrace the virtues of love and sacrifice for the unity and development of the country.

He urged Nigerians both at home and abroad to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its determin
ation to foster a peaceful and united Nigeria.

  4. Nigeria can so dash out public holidays like no man business and the thing dey always pain me 😒😒. Anyway I'm looking forward to Bank Holiday weekend next week and I will relax like there's no tomorrow..

      Nigerians dont do holiday i can argue this with u, go to other countries u will hear ASSUMPTION DAY etc, does Nigeria observe that, this two days holiday u are seeing up there for some countries its 1weeek especially thoes populated by Muslim

  9. This holiday no sweet jor, i tot they would shift it to Thursday and Friday. Besides, third mainland bridge repairs will start on Friday and the traffic jam that day go tie gele, why didn't Lagos state shift theirs to Thursday and Friday?
