Baffa said approval for the funds was given by the Federal Executive Council, noting that the establishment of a university for the military was overdue.
“The FEC has approved N2bn for the establishment of the Nigerian Army university in Biu, Borno State. I also want to congratulate the Chief of Army Staff and the entire Nigerian Army in the tremendous successes that are being recorded in the fight against insurgency, militancy, rustling, brigandage and in the fight to keep Nigeria one. Congratulations for such huge successes that are being recorded and we will continue to see them record more success in their quest to keep us safe, to keep us being one,” the TETFUND boss said.
Buratai said the university would be tailored to meet the needs of the military and also develop the science and technology base of the nation.

Why must every major institution like this be sited in the north? Of all place to be it is Bornu they chose. What happened to Lagos or Enugu even Port Harcourt or Calabar? Tomorrow the boko haram insurgents will over run that place and burn it down as we have always seen them do to military base. Military depot or what they called it is in the north, university again going to same north. Them try very well.
ReplyDelete2billion abi una wan loot
ReplyDeleteWhat do we need an Army university for?? They are looking for ways to steal money again through big projects. We need the money to fix our existing and crumbling infrastructure. Schools, Health sector and even the barracks are all in dire need of remodeling. They should upgrade our crumbling University Teaching Hospitals.
ReplyDeleteNDA is located where? Nigeria Airforce University is located where? And now Nigeria Army University is being located in Borno again. The Government needs to explain if there is any particular reason why the north is the top choicecfor this University.
ReplyDeleteThis is also my worries and question above. I think things like these should be spread across the nation to breed national integration and unity. Unless they have a hidden agenda else I don't see reasons everything will be 'northernize'
DeleteWhat's NDA for? Why must it be in the North?
ReplyDeleteMMS-North
NDA- North
Now NAU-North again and they claim we are one Nigeria? We have never been and will never be! Cursed country and cursed leaders.
Polac too
DeleteMust everything be in the north, there is no single government institution with its headquarters situated in the east but when we scream marginalization, some people will find means to defend them. To get a good posting in this country, one must be a northerner yet someone keeps telling me their is no tribalism smh
ReplyDeleteDo you know Kaduna have no waterways but a dry pot was created? Onitsha has a sea but successful government has played politics with it and very soon they will campaign with it again. Places like Aba and Onitsha ought to have a cargo airport based on their input on production, exportation and importation but none is presence. Every goods must land in Lagos thereby doubling the transportation cost to bring it to the East. Is Calabar port still functioning? So lot of abnormalities in this country that need to be addressed. It is a known fact that the South Eastern part of this country is being marginalized. Could it be the result of the 95% against the 5% Mr President said about his commitment to?
Delete*Dry port*
DeleteNonsense
ReplyDeleteThey are putting them in the North cos they want to make sure majority of the Hausas are in the Army and Airforce. That way when there is a call to take up arms against the Christians there wont be any hestitation. They want to be stronger and dominant in every aspect of Nigeria and till we get leaders who lead and not sellouts we will never be great. These people want Syria to happen in Naija and till we do something about it instead of by prayer nothing will change.
ReplyDeletethank you....the northern cabal have long marginalized other parts of nigeria and truly seek for ways to be more dominant.very strategic people. fulani herdsmen palava is ethnic cleansing yet the yeye buhari is hiding his hypocritical head under claims of shrinking lake Chad and the need for herdsmen to find more grazing land. fools.
