Detained IPOB Women Regain Freedom

The over 100 women detained for protesting against the continued disappearance of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Owerri, Imo State, have all been released.

It was gathered that the women were released at about 4:50pm on Friday.

IPOB has however called on the international community to query the Nigeria Police Force and the Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, over the detention.

Speaking through its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, IPOB described the detention of the aged women and pregnant mothers as wicked.

  1. Finally they were granted bail unconditionally, discharged and acquitted because their arrest was illegal and lack  merit to jail them after hurriedly charging them with treasonable felony, terrorism and other ungrounded charges. I think the police should be enlightened on what treason really means, or could that be a new offence charge they learnt? Could you imagine the charge of terrorism given to women without bombs, ammunition or weaponry. Shame leave Nigeria begin catch me.

Why is Nigeria and its handlers, including their Igbo collaborators of governors disgracing themselves before the international communities? Why lose cases unnecessarily if you claim to know the law in your own court against a people you proscribed to be terrorist, why? Because they are formidable and will never abandon their own.

So lots of personalities like Governor Dakwambo of Gombe State, including APC stalwart, Shehu Sani, Amnesty International, Almad Saldika (journalist on boko haram reportage) etc condemned the illegality of those women arrest because it infringe on their fundamental human rights. Anyone that supported that illegality of an arrest should present their heads for sanity test, for obviously they could be insane.
