Abductors Demand N5m To Free Wife Of Murdered Kaduna Cleric

Barely 24 hours after gunmen attacked the Nasara Baptist Church, Guguwa, Igabi local government area of Kaduna State where the Church’s Pastor, Reverend Hosea M. Akuchi was murdered, abductors of his wife have placed N5 million ransom on her.

A source in the area revealed that the attackers came calling at about 1 a.m. on Monday and forced their way into the apartment of the clergyman, shot him and took his wife, Mrs Talatu Hosea Akuchi away.

The source said that he abductors said that they needed N5 million as ransom before they could release her.


The source said, “They called a family phone line to tell us such heartless thing after killing the Reverend in cold blood. How can this injustice continue in a country like Nigeria without any serious measures in place to check the activities of these people? You can imagine that they now have the boldness to walk into people’s home, kill and abduct and also have the effrontery to demand for ransom. Where and how can we get that money?


Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kaduna Police Command, DSP Yakubu Sabo had earlier confirmed that the clergyman was shot while struggling with the attackers whose intention may have been to abduct him.
