Singer And Actress Demi Lovato Reportedly Stable After Drug Overdose

Former Disney star, actress and Singer Demi Lovato is “awake and with her family” after being hospitalized Tuesday....

According to her Rep....“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,” her representative said in the statement. “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”

Singer and actress Demi Lovato was taken to a Los Angeles hospital Tuesday morning after an apparent drug overdose, according to multiple news outlets.

She is being treated and is reportedly “stable,” an unnamed source told People. Lovato’s aunt, Kerissa Webb Dunn, posted on Facebook on Tuesday that the singer was “awake and responsive.”

The singer was given Narcan, an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses, before being transported from her home to a hospital, TMZ reports, citing unnamed sources.

Representatives for Lovato did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment but representative for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to HuffPost that there was a medical emergency at an address in the Hollywood Hills Tuesday morning, but would not confirm the identity of the patient.

The former Disney star recently revealed she’d relapsed after six years of sober living in a heartbreaking ballad titled “Sober.”

“Momma, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor,” she sings in the song’s chorus. “To the ones who never left me, we’ve been down this road before.”

Lovato has been open about her struggles with drugs and alcohol. At 18 years old, the pop star checked into rehab for the first time, where she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and treated for addiction, self-harm and bulimia.

  2. This is so sad. I watched her documentary simply complicated and you can vividly see what that path did to her and how it almost cost her career and also what it did to her father. I didn't see her relapsing anytime soon, but I guess sobriety is easier said than done.

  3. She will be back on her feet again and still go back to drugs.

    First time is a mistake,
    Second time is a mistake,
    Third time is a choice.

She wants to die like the others....

  4. Such a pity. Demi has been struggling with Alcohol/drug abuse since her teen years. These disney kids are always under so much pressure.
If you listen to her song ‘Sober’ you will understand her fight.
Its so difficult to fight addiction as a celebrity especially if people know cos their handlers will shove drugs their way,Strangers will give them drugs,Dealers will pump them with steady supply of drugs... Even hotel employees will sneak in drugs for them.
2days ago made it 8years since Amy Winehouse overdosed and died.

  5. I don't understand what this celebs see what drugs! I guess it is too much money. When you don't have money you can't afford drugs! Look at how the world famous Swedish DJ Avicii died of drug overdose in Oman and the family hid that fact from his fans! Drug abuse is a killer. After all the singing and dancing the next thing na drug! You can never be high always

  6. Demi I hope you get through this, I love the fact that she's been so open about her struggles with drugs and bipolar disorder, Disney kids don't actually have it easy except they have really supportive parents even with that, fame and fortune at a young age could easily be a 2 edged sword. I feel for her, maybe she should take a very long break and travel. She really needs a lot of love and support.

  7. They seem to have it all and they go this route why? Yeah it's a struggle but after the first problem she had she seemed to be on the right track then this, it just looks like they don't value what they have. Maybe I'm wrong
