Senate President Saraki And Ekweremadu Reportedly Under House Arrest

There is drama unfolding in Abuja........

Officials of the Department of State Security Services, (DSS), the Police as well as the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday morning laid siege to the residence of the Senate President Saraki and his Deputy Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Abuja.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s home was locked down by police officers and his convoy prevented from leaving the premises to attend to the invitation by the Inspector General of Police, Idris K. Ibrahim.

The reason behind their action is unclear at the moment as the officials have reportedly prevented the lawmakers from going out.

  1. The drama has just begun. Shame unto our democracy. Mr President has succeeded in destroying the reputation this country have before the global world. I think I support Trump call for African to be recolonize one more time since they are yet to learn how to govern themselves.

  5. This is the change Nigerians asked for now...back to military rule. This is what you get when you vote a dictator. Buhari who had nothing to show other than infringing on people's right as a military head of state that was brought back an polished as "Mr. Integrity" and the few people that asked questions as to what achievement can be traced to him since he left office in 1983 were branded PDP dogs. A man that left office and cannot point to a single project he successfully completed in office or a business he is running/managing after leaving office and still carries his archaic mentality around is who Nigerians decided that we deserve...this is the result. God save Nigeria...

  7. Buhari should resign already, witch hunting is not politicking, this arrest is baseless and lacks any logical basis. Just want to embarrass Saraki and intimidate him into silence. Buhari you are too imperial to be a president.

  8. They are opposed to him running for president and all the underhand work he is doing to get Buhari out of office.

  11. From SR.

As early as 7:00am, senators loyal to Parliamentary Support Group (PSG) had started arriving the National Assembly while those loyal to the Senate President also trooped in.

It was gathered that the PSG had perfected a plan to hurriedly Impeach Saraki as soon as he honours the police invitation, as signatures were said to have been collected overnight.

Having sensed the sinister move by the opposing camp, Saraki decided to outsmart them by quickly sneaking into the National Assembly with a rickety vehicle he drove himself.

It was gathered that Saraki had also perfected his plans to announce his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) today and adjourn the plenary sine dine.

    1. Fifteen senators just defect from APC to PDP thereby making the opposition majority in the house. Don't you that Mr President has a difficult battle already? Possibility of even rigging his way is no longer feasible come 2019.

    2. Of course. This is APC's last year in Government at the Federal level and in many states.
