Mohamed Salah Signs Long-term Contract With Liverpool

Footballer Mo Salah, Egyptian superstar, coveted by every side in the world due to his sensational debut campaign at Anfield, has pledged his future to Liverpool by signing a new five-year deal.

His deal does not contain an exit clause, and although Liverpool are not revealing the salary details, there is no doubt the 26-year-old has been rewarded with a package reflective of his elevation to a global star.


Now Salah will look to build on a record-breaking Anfield campaign during which he became the first Liverpool player since Ian Rush to score 40 goals.


He was named the PFA and FWA Player of the Season, and is a genuine contender for the Ballon d’Or in 2018, despite his recent injury ruining his chances of finding top form at the World Cup with Egypt.


Signed from Roma a year ago for a deal that will eventually rise to £39m - Salah rapidly transformed perceptions of the transfer from risky to one of the most astute in Anfield's history. His value soared to well over £100 million in a matter of months as he plundered goals at home and in Europe.


Manager Jurgen Klopp said Salah’s reaffirming of his commitment was a sign of the club’s progress, closely following that of Roberto Firmino.
