The actress, 32, who lives in Ketu area of Lagos, is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on burglary and stealing to which she pleaded not guilty.
Police Prosecutor Benson Emuerhi told the court that the accused committed the offences on June 27 at Shangisha, Ketu, a suburb of Lagos, at 2.10 p.m.
According to him, the accused was apprehended while trying to enter the apartment of the complainant, Mr Adeboye Lamidi. “Akilapa used a different key to unlock the door of the complainant house but was caught in the act."
The prosecutor also alleged that the accused on Nov. 16, 2015 at 3.00 p.m. also broke into the residence of Oyinlola Tuga by unlocking the door with a master key. “Tuga alleged that after raising alarm that his house had been burgled, his neighbours told him that they saw the accused parked her car with registration no. MUS 689 CZ in front of the complainant’s house. They challenged her and found the stolen items and a hundred bunch of keys on her."
The accused was apprehended and handed over to the police at Ifako Police Station.
The actress was sometime in 2013 sent to the Kirikiri Prison and after a few months regained her freedom in November 2013.
In Jan. 12, 2014, she was again caught trying to steal with a bunch of master keys hidden in her brassiere at a house in Magodo Phase 2.
The offences contravened Sections 287, 307 and 308 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised) and Section 287 stipulates a three-year jail term for stealing, while Section 307 prescribes seven years for burglary. The Magistrate, Olufunke Sule-Amzat, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two responsible sureties.
Sule-Amzat said the sureties must be gainfully employed with an evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government. She adjourned the case until Oct. 22.

*This Lady is not possessed or cursed like people are insinuating,it is also not her Village people doing her.....she is just stuck to stealing the way people are stuck to abusing drugs and smoking crack......
I think if they lock her inside anywhere it will do her no good.
I also do not know what sort of therapy will cure her of stealing....
I pray she finds help soon cos she may go and steal somewhere with fatal consequences.....
Clear case of Klep
ReplyDeleteThey should lock her away and throw away the keys....she said she was delivered from the spirit of stealing some time back.
DeleteShe's a deliberate thief not a Klep
DeleteYou people don't know the meaning of kleptomania but you keep using it everything whether it applies or not. That means every thief is a klepto, also all your politicians are kleptomaniacs abi? Mscheww
DeleteAnon 10.55 lock her up and throw away the keys, this thief that has thousands of master keys
DeleteHnmmm
ReplyDeleteSo she needs therapy abi
ReplyDeleteWhat she needs is deliverance, she is possessed.
Madam O, forget that thing. Deliverance has not worked on better things, so it won't work on a deliberate thief.
DeleteThis kinda public disgrace everytime all in the name of stealing? I hope she finds the help she deserves
ReplyDeleteShe is a Kleptomaniac
ReplyDeleteThe Word of God is the only help for her.
ReplyDeleteHer village people at work.
ReplyDelete@Princess Tever
Stella I disagree with you. She needs deliverance not therapy
ReplyDeleteAfter spending some years in Kirikiri, she will come out to come and have her own gang. She's a born thief, a very greedy person
ReplyDelete*Larry was here*
She will recruit other prisoners as gang members by the time She gets out,She will become a notorious armed robber with her gang, watch out for her
DeleteThere two kind of spirit. Spirit of God, and the devil. Good and evil. Light and darkness. So if you have the spirit of God in you, definitely everything good follows. But if you have the devil in you, everything evil follows. And the only way out, is through deliverance, denouncing the devil, accepting Jesus, basically doing or accepting the opposite of evil which is good. So, saying she doesn’t need deliverance is not right Becos stealing is OF the devil and so everything evil attached to the devil, is attached to her. U can’t have half devil, and half God. There is no neutral between God and the devil. It’s either God, or the devil. I PRAY SHE FINDS GOD. Becos hers has become a problem to her.
ReplyDeletemay God deliver her
ReplyDeleteHow did they come with the worth of the goods..... N7 million... make una fear God small.
ReplyDeleteShe needs deliverance
She remind of one notorious criminal in my school then. Chai, pretty girl from rich home but she can steal for Africa. I hope she doesn't steal again. I have nothing but pity for her seriously.
ReplyDeleteAnd her colleagues in Yoruba movie industry are denying her
DeleteShe's not not a kleptomaniac. She's just a thief. Because she steals often doesn't make her a klepto. We can as well say all the thieves we hear about who go to jail and comeback to stealing are klptos.
ReplyDeleteSuch a thief
ReplyDeleteAnini sister
ReplyDeleteAnonymous Bug
What a disgrace to her friends and family
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteStella i was with this lady last week o, her baby girl attends same creche with my baby, infact we gisted about how children are fond of each other and care for each other, i cannot believe i was gisting with a thief.
ReplyDeleteShes just trying to survive as a single mother but shes on the wrong means of survival.
I guess after the initial saga of theft, no producer wants her in their movie.. Funnest/sad part is that the flat upstairs the creche experienced theft some months ago, d owner only stepped out of her flat and came back looking for her phones and jewelry, Yetunde also sympathized with her that na in-house robbery not knowing (maybe) na she.
shes suffering from klep truly.
This is just sad
ReplyDelete"If they lock her it will do her no good"? Yes, same with other theifs that need help But that is the law. It cant change now.
ReplyDeleteNa wa oh
