Wizkid Does Not Aim To Penetrate International Music Market

Nigerian Star boy, Wizkid has revealed that irrespective of what many believe, his goal is not to penetrate into the international music market cause he doesn’t care about the appeal.

During a chat with BBC, Wizkid spoke about the philosophy guiding his art.

He said that he does care about international appeal although he cares for his international fans.

He stressed that his interest is in getting his music heard, whether it’s by fans in Africa or by fans abroad.

He also said that there is no secret formula to his art, that what he does is that he keeps his music easy and simple; and that he likes the fact that his fans welcome his style of things; music and life.

  10. After reading through the comments on this post, i realised that most people on this blog read to comment and not to understand....There is a huge difference between tailoring ones music to meet international appeal and just wanting your music to be heard internationally by fans worldwide...meaning his style of music is not to look like it's other international acts but his interest is to get his music to heard by fans worldwide.

Hmm I hope I explained in a way that you all get.

  12. Tbh Wizkid IS proud. As at last year after doing that song with Drake and all the buzz; he probably thought he had penetrated the international market. Started acting up and too big for the local stars. When Davido sold out his Eko hotel show and Wizzy didnt sell out his...i personally believe he realised he was losing base and decided to come down his high horse at least a notch. Now..he has done some collabos...banging ones by the way. And i hear he is doing an album with music on this side. Last album was music from the other side...and u werent trying to penetrate there?...ok o. Davido tried and rushed back home too....lets hear word. Be humble.

  13. I beg why would Wizkid be jealous? He has won BET Best International Act twice. And Davido also said same when he was beefing with Wizkid. He claimed foreign collabo was not the height. Now look at him soliciting for collabo with foreign artistes on BET stage. Such is life.
