Thursday In House News...

Is Today Thursday or Friday?Feels like Monday!!!

Your hustle is probably not moving forward because you are standing in one place on someone else's hustle!!!....Before you can progress you need to release that person you are standing on their progress!..#notpreaching!

Before you can love someone else completely, you need to start loving yourself first..Self hate is very dangerous!

Have a great day!

MRS DEES CORNER
HELPING WITHOUT THE OTHER SPOUSE' SUPPORT

I lost my dad when I was eleven and my mum was left with five children to cater for alone.  It was a very tough period and having a little business that didn't bring in much money was not helping matters.

An elderly man in my church took interest in our plight and promised to be of help in the little way he could.

When it was time to register for my O'levels, he footed the bill. I finished secondary school and got a little job that paid three thousand naira a month.  I wanted to save up for a year or thereabout before writing JAMB but he told me to buy  the form and write the exam immediately. I purchased the form and wrote the exams and by God's grace I passed.

When I gained admission,  he told me he could not really help me financially as three of his children were also in the University.  However,  he promised to contact someone who had the wherewithal and persuade the person to pay my tuition fees.  We fasted and prayed for favour and when he finally got in touch with  the person,  he agreed.  Each time I came back on holiday,  he would give me pocket money,  sometimes, two thousand and never above ten thousand naira.  He also paid for my younger brother's school fees because he also showed interest in being educated.

Trouble started when the wife warned me not to step my foot in her house again.  She also accused the husband of focusing on my family when he still had his responsibilities as a father to his children.  She reported the matter to the church and the elders were summoned to settle the dispute.

Till tomorrow I don't know what was discussed in the meeting and my mum refused to say anything about it but it didn't deter him from still helping in his little way. When I was in year two,  my sponsor said he couldn't continue as business was not thriving as before.  I had to source for funds here and there, started a little business in school as I was in the school hostel.

I applied for work-aid and got picked.  Twice in a week I swept and cleaned a particular department in my school and at the end of the month, I was paid five thousand naira.  I was able to pay for faculty, departmental dues, type,  print and pay for my project work.

I graduated with a good grade and he was so happy.

God sincerely knows that if it were not for his help,  I wouldn't have become a graduate.

Years passed,  I finished service year,  got a small job and later got married. This elderly man became terribly sick,  he spent an entire year in the hospital and was in and out of coma.  His wife had lost her job,  his business was shut down and there were bills to pay.  That was when people whom he had helped stepped in,  people were singing his praises how he had also made an impact on their lives. So many people came out to say he had trained them in nursing schools and paid their school fees as well.

All the medical bills were paid for during the period he was in the hospital and even after he was discharged.  Everyone who heard reached out.  He still tells me he never knew he would get such kindness from people he hardly expected.
Was the wife right to stop him from helping others because he supposedly didn't have enough?

I still wonder if helping my family was enough reason to report to the church.

Did he do wrong by still helping us even when his wife objected to it?

`**Hmmmmm, this is really deep!!!....I am sure the wife has learnt her lesson and anyone else with this behaviour reading this should stop it and know that no condition is permanent,do not stop people from reaching out to others for flimsy excuses....

A BLOG VISTOR'S CRY FOR JUSTICE

Hello Stella, may the Favour of God dwell with you. I've being a blog visitor since 2016. Please help to post this in a place dim fit on your platform as God would reward you abundantly.

My elder brother Daniel joined Nigeria Police force in the year 2000. But four years later(April, 2004), he sustained a spinal cord injury after an accident and as a result, he lost his walking ability. He was attached to Wukari Divisional Headquarters in Taraba State when the incident happened. To our utmost surprise, the Nigeria Police force abandoned him. It was my family that foot all the hospital bills. We stayed at Orthopedic hospital Enugu for six months. The disappointment and frustration are best imagined. After the period, we were discharged and he was taken to the village ( Apa, Benue state) because he needs special care. Back then, he couldn't do the basic things such as bath, defecation, changing of clothes, etc for himself without assistance. But we're grateful to God that the situation, though very slow, is improving.

My reason for this mail is that, in December 2006 just two years after the incident, his salary was stopped without justification. We were so surprised and at the same panicking as we don't have an idea on what could have prompted the new development. Stella, that was when our ordeals started. We started traveling to meet the 'ogas' from one office to the other, they kept telling us the situation is under watch, I couldn't remember how many journeys we made and still making regarding the salary issue. Up till now, no avail. we've been to Abuja, Lagos, Wukari uncountable times, spoke to a radio station in Abuja, still no rewards for our efforts. But it's hard to bear this as my parents aren't workers but just peasant farmers. Despite his condition, he got married last year December, this adds to his needs and further stress my parents. He doesn't walk still, he only stay in the room. He does everything in the room.

Stella, please I'm soliciting for your help and that of wonderful gold-hearted blog visitors to help us drive justice home. It's hard to accept the fact that if you're nobody in Nigeria, you don't have rights.

Please at this point, we the family members are helpless and need the help of general public. This isn't a money sourcing mail but to help us connect to someone who can go out of his way to help the helpless. I've his Police ID number and other documents available. May God bless anyone who will reach out.

Thank you so much Stella and may God bless you more! Contact details: olocheadah1994@gmail.com, 08036298405, 08122431995

Please anyone who knows how they can help should get involved, this isnt right at all......BV Emeka please take this up...Thank you.

UK Based Blog Visitor Begins Campaign To Prosecute Prof Who Said Sickle Cell Is A Disease

Dear Stella..

Sequel to Prof. Otoikhian’s interview on TVC Africa on the world sickle cell day, I here by offer an open contract to any Nigerian lawyer willing to accept my offer for the Prosecution of Prof. Otoikhian on his hate speech and crime against humanity on people living with Sickle Cell Anaemia.

I am offering £1000 for the services of any Nigerian lawyer willing to accept my offer. Prof his indeed lucky, I am not based in Nigeria.

If accident victims and wounded soldiers whose conditions are hopeless are given a chance to survive then it is inhumane for Prof to openly condemn those living and struggling with SS.

He is a professor, he is well educated and enlightened to commence a campaign or advocate against this consequence of genotype checking before marriage rather than the resort to Hate and crime against humanity.
Such bitterness from Prof should not go unpunished and if he escapes justice in Nigeria, I will take this matter as far as the ICC to seek justice.

There is no difference between with this mans hate speech and the hate speech crimes committed against the Tutsi in the Rwandan Genocide.

I am also calling for the stripping of his professorship as his mindset is a disservice to the Nigerian research and educational community in Genetics. A genetic professor who openly said there is no cure to genetic disorder while at the Necker Children's Hospital in Paris, a French teenager's sickle cell disease has been reversed using a pioneering treatment to change his DNA. If this is not an attempt to cure genetics disease, I wonder what this is called. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-39142971

With such uninspiring mindset despite being a professor of genetics, he is not abreast with current trends in his field, thus unfit for a professor in Genetics. His lack of believe in himself and the deliberate misleading of the public on the treatment of genetic disease is a deterrent to the educational community especially as we look forward to break new grounds in medicine.

Please help me post this message as I commence my campaign to prosecute Prof for his hate speech and lack of empathy for life.

Interested lawyer should contact me on the economicmarshallofnigeria@gmail.com
Find attached his video interview

Thank you.

  6. Pls I need serious advice from my bvs. My husband is the cool and calm type,an introvert to the core. Junior workers at his work place do use him as a guarantor. I have warned him to stop being too nice but he won't hear. Naso, this guy wet him do guarantor for now said he's quitting his job this month and a total of 5000 naira will be deducted from my husbands salary for good 3months. I was so pissed because we are just managing 75k,no savings ooo with two children and they will soon start school by September by Gods grace. The guy wants to resign because his baby mama came to his place of work and told d management to divide his salary into two that he doesn't pay his child schoolfees but the guy in turn said he will not pay school fees cos she's always using swear words on him whenever she's demanding money that instead of sharing his salary into two,he'd rather resign and go back to his place. So he decided to resign this month and he said hell try to return my husbands money later. I thank God this happened to my husband, next time,he'll always listen to what I tell him. He's too soft for my likening. Now,the guy said he'll come and see hubby since yesterday,he never showed face. What advice can you give,

    2. No I don't leave mine for days, or to cool, I use it immediately. If you don't cook rice often you can refrigerate some of the water...which you must throw out after 4 days.

Applying: I wash my face with soap. I have been making use of septol black soap for some weeks now(cos the soap is kinda an exfoliation soap)

After my face must have air dried, then I pour the rice water on my face. You can rub in gently. Then wash it off 30- 60 mins after applying.

  25. Hi Thursday... I watched a yoruba movie last night and in one of the scene. A psychiatrist was evaluating her patient and she asked her this popular question." If i fill a bathtube with water and give u a bucket and a spoon to empty it. What would u do" The patient answered her by saying that she would rather remove the plug and allow the water to drain away than using the bucket. She congratulated her and certify her mentally fit. Abeg its that how they use to do in psychiatric hospital abi na mere fiction. What if u are ok but got it wrong?Just curious

  28. Stella thank you for the post. i also sell palm oil and also tomato/pepper mix (tomapep).

the person soliciting for lawyer to take up that prof case, God bless you abundantly. i support that he should be stripped of his degrees. and also TVC should distance themselves from his comments. it was so harsh and it is hate crime .SS is not an infectious disease. sufferes are victims not enablers.

Happy 30th to Ruth. God bless your new age.

    1. Did you say pregnancy? If yes, then it's normal. Just chill, it'll stop with time or report to you Dr. Don't self-medicate or take any 'solution' here.

If it's not pregnancy, still visit a Dr. Don't self-medicate.

      1. Do not eat heavy food at night (especially potatoes, moi moi, beans, eba)
      2. Drink loads of water after eating
      3. Do not lie down or rest your head immediately after eating

  39. Please i am here to speak up sternly against Professor Otoikhian i don't know if i got the spelling right. What he said was the brutal truth which we as Nigerians do not like to hear. I know your reactions might stem from when he said spending money on a Sickel cell Child is like putting money in a sachet and throwing it away. Why not look at it in the angle that he spoke not just on those living with the disease but on people who are still intending to tow the line. Why i want to understand your grievance I personally watched that interview and i applaud him for dishing it as brutal as it is. sickle cell is something that should be discouraged and fought against in totality anything to stop people from going ahead to produce kids to suffer all the days of their lives in the name of love. Only problem i saw was the lack of time on the show for which he was supposed to speak also on management for people living with it. Do you know how much it costs to have a stem cell transplant which is the only cure. People should stop the madness, rather use that money to join in creating awareness on the importance of intending couples knowing their genotypes. You can only speak with levity on this Sickle cell if you have not have a loved one who had a running with it. It is due to this kid glove approach that and lack of true information that make some people go ahead to get married despite knowing the lack of genotype compatibility and say they will pray and for a miracle PS i am a Christian too. Please lets encourage people to say the truth as it is, as this may deter people. I believed many people who watched that interview got one thing clear and that is how serious it is. I will even suggest a prison sentence for people who go ahead and marry knowing the implication. Today i am commenting with my name in full on this matter. Osuji Christiana.

  42. Lady who needs a lawyer. What you intend to do is admirable. Be careful though this is Nigeria. Nothing will come out of it. And you will need more than £1,000 if it drags on for years. That’s if you get a lawyer who won’t abscond with your money. Also nobody will strip him off his professorship. It’s quite disappointing.
