Sunday In House Gists - REBIRTH

Is it Rebirth or Reincarnation.....

Does Reincarnation exist? Do you believe in it? Have you any story close to home that made you believe in it. Any Bible sources?

A BV Says ''Some parents says a child is reincarnated thru someone in the family that either died prematurely or very dear to them. Like my dad says I'm his mother's reincarnate. The Igbos call it "Iyo uwa"

I also heard some people can die prematurely and go far away and start living, only to disappear if someone that knows them in their previous life is within their environment. Is it the same as reincarnation?
Let's gist!

    3. Your genes coded the same way...it is appointed unto man to die ONCE and after that judgement...reincarnation is a myth!

    4. Nope ma dear miss Ess,its not reincarnation.I am the carbon copy of ma mum or should I say photocopy, everything in same place and she's very much alive with me now as I'm commenting,so will you say I'm her reincarnation?

    5. Anonymous 14:20, going by your quote, how many times was Lazurus that died more than once judged? He was dead for four days before Jesus raised him. Was his judgement delayed? If yes, then there are exceptions to that passage of the Bible and reincarnation exists. Means not everyone is judged immediately. Some dead come back to be judged later.

    6. It is appointed unto man to DIE ONCE and after death comes judgment Hebrews 9:27

    7. Those of you quoting Hebrews here, does it mean the Bible is contradicting itself? Lazarus died twice na. This one you are saying it is appointed for a man to die once and after that jidgement. So Lazarus died twice and was judged how many times? Once? Twice? Hahahahahahahaha
I'm a Christian btw. But the Bible confuses me sometimes that I begin to wonder if truly it was written by a group of men for their own selfish interests and claimed in some quarters

    8. Hebrew is old testament. Reincarnation is similar to resurrection in the New Testament. As Christians, you follow the new testament. But of course you don't forget the old testament, just like you don't forget history so it won't repeat itself badly. FYI, resurrection is also mentioned in the old Testament.

    5. Reincarnation in Yoruba is in different forms. Abiku, Akudaya and Atunbi.

Atunbi: when a child is born and believed to be around a time an important member of his/her family dies or he/she is similar or have been revealed to be a recent or an old late member of his/her family. hence they give him/her oruko amutorunwa, meaning predestined name.

BTW the name Jide, Tunji, Tunde, Wande, is only oruko amutorunwa if it starts with Baba/Mama/Ma/Ye/Iye , e.g. Babatunde or Yewande. But if the names are Olatunde or Olawande they mean completely something different.

Akudaya: are not reborn, so their form of reincarnation is to take on new identity in a different location where they're not known to anybody.

      Abiku: is even more spiritual.

Both Akudaya and Abiku are aware of their previous lives. But Atunbi are not. This is a new life journey for them. In Yoruba culture, they are treated differently. Abiku and Akudaya are things to worry about/be scared off while Atunbi are celebrated and are more common.

  4. Sometimes i wonder the mystery behind reincarnation. As a christian, we are told not to believe such cos after death comes judgement and thats it. I've also heard stories about people who die in a particular place and go to live somewhere else to the extent of getting married and having kids, to me i think its evil o!! Spirits dont bleed neither do they release sperm.....oh well what do i know. Scary something

    1. I think I believe but I don’t like to speak about it, I remember when I was in secondary school, I was watching an oyinbo documentary that was about this 3year old that kept telling his parents about his former life, they named him something different but when he could speak he told them his real name, when he was born and that he died during the world wars, he was a jet fighter, he married and had a few kids before the war. The parents said they initially thought he was joking until he started mentioning all the kinds of jet that was used during the war. They began to make research and actually found out that there was a soldier with that name, who flew jets, everything he said was true, even the dates of the war, things that happened in the past, I think he was just five when they believed him and decided to carry out th research. I was really scared that day, cus these were oyinbo people o. I was just thinking, things really do happen

  8. Just woke up from sleep. Wish I could type but so weak. Reincarnation is so real and we shouldn't bring up the bible into it. Tradition existed long way before Christianity. I just laugh when I hear people write off possible traditional event or occurence because of Christianity.

    1. There are a lot of mysteries in our world that the bible is silent on. I believe if the bible tells us nothing about them, then they are irrelevant. But the notion that it is a traditional event or occurrence is total hogwash, to be frank. This issue has no relationship with the tradition of men but with certain mysterious supernatural order.

My mother in law strongly believes my baby boy is my father-in-law's incarnate initially I tried to ward it off and discourage her from saying so ....well she kept on and on how he smiles like him, has a mark on his forehead just like him and then she mentioned one time that her husband promised he would never leave her and that's why he came back to be with her again...funny enof whenever he cries once she carries him n start calling him pet names he would just stop crying🤔

so after visiting for a omugwo she travelled back to her base. The Next day I got an alert of 1 million naira and she sent a text message and that I should use it and take care of her husband that he worked hard for it.

Since then I kuku joined my sils in calling him d pet names..lol. I'd even take pictures and send to her on whatsapp and tell her that her husband is greeting o😅😅😂

  21. I remember when I was in the university, on my way to class one day, one young Professor called a name repeatedly at me, I continued walking. He continued calling the name, I increased my pace, minding my business because that's not my name and I am also thinking 'another day, another toaster.

He literally ran up to me and called a name, then asked , what are you doing here? Haaaaa. See me see wahala. I brushed him off with , Sir, are you talking to me? He said yes, don't I remember him? I was one of his favourite student. Was? In my mind, I was like 'what a nice format ', I ignored him and continued walking.

The man followed me, introduced himself and asked, am I not so so and so person that was in a particular department before she died? She is from one state in Nigeria.

    Oh my goodness!

I told him 'Sir, with all due respect , I don't know whoever , I am in another department and God forbid . He kept on staring at me with disbelief written in his eyes. I told him Sir, I am not who you think I am and some of my course mate will attest to that. Oh well, it seems he finally snapped out of the shock and started muttering 'how I look so much like her bla bla bla and if the family sees me they will think i am the person. I told him 'God forbid, it is not me and can never be me and walked off. When I turned back trying to evaluate what just happened, he was still there staring at me. I hurried up to my class .

It made me realise that when you lose someone you are close to or witnessed their death, you may start seeing them in other people who may have same structure with them. It is one of the stages of grief. People say we have doppelganger and sometimes loss of relationship, family may make you start seeing that person in another person who may look similar in your eyes.

That's why it is good to know grieve properly through all the stages so you can move on.

    That's my take

  22. I believe reincarnation truly exist, my husband told me about his cousin who was born on the same day a very powerful hunter died in their village, the hunter was shot on his chest and the cousin was born with a red spot on his chest till date. He is the only child of his mother and the richest in my husband family.

    1. Like the stories of the footballer Ozil and Jayz I read online, lol, interesting but adontbeliveit. However, I feel there is some merit in reincarnation. My Christian beliefs have been unable to erase my feelings on reincarnation. I think this is because I know this world is mysterious and we can't know everything about it, just as we can't know everything about God. I guess that's why the serial Second Chance was so popular...

  27. Hmm... Reincarnation is so real, Stella.
There are so many mysteries in this world that should your eyes be opened, one may run mad or just end up dead.
And that’s why God prevents us from acquiring certain knowledge. The world isn’t as we think it to be. That you don’t believe in something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
I’ve been privileged to come across certain materials (not occultic) and had people in the know educate me. Trust me, it’s not for the faint-hearted.
I didn’t cross the line though because I didn’t want to lose my soul. Yes, that is the price in most cases, or you get attacked.
Some things you meddle in and you start losing pieces of your soul. So not worth it.
I have a heaven to make, biko.

  28. Reincarnation is Real, it takes one several incarnation to be able know the mystery surrounding life and death, when One is born into this world, he or she is dies in another world, the spiritual world, birth and rebirth.

  29. I don't believe in reincarnation but certain events want to prove it wrong. My nephew was assassinated on the 22nd of Dec, 2007 at PH. But few years later, a friend that didn't know he has passed on saw him in a club at Madrid. They clubbed and exchanged numbers. The guy later lost the number and got in touch with the younger brother. He narrated how they met at a club. He told him he needs the number. That was how we knew.

Also, the story told by Evangelist Funmi Adebayo with bible passages about her personal experiences.

  30. My late mother told us a real story while alive. She was a primary school teacher . One day one of her colleagues rushed to her class shaking and afraid but was able to point towards her classroom. My mother left her in her class and went to the colleague’s class and met a old man. My mother greeted the man and the old man told my mum to tell her colleague that they should go and bury their father properly in the village. My mum went back to her class and took some money and gave to the old man to enter a cab. The man prayed for my Mum and walked away from the school . My mum went back to her class to meet the colleague that why was she running from the man just for her to open her mouth and told my mother that the man was her late father that died few years ago. My mum nearly fainted. This story was over 46 yrs ago

  31. Reincarnation is real. I was reincarnated. I have a very dark birthmark from my butt to my popliteal, very very dark. When I was in boarding school my friends asked me a lot what it was that's how obvious it was. I asked my grandma and she told me that I came back again. That there was this woman who was rich and barren. She was a very successful businesswoman built her own house and everything. The woman lived in igbodo with her hubby but came back to the village when she became very old. The woman was able to walk with the aid of a stick. My village soil is very dark clay, the soil is slippery as hell. So one day this woman was going from her main house to the kitchen when she slipped and fell down, she must have screamed but no one heard her, no one really lived with her too. She died there with her butt stuck to the dark soil like that. My grandma said it must have been up to two days before they found her. My grandma was among the women who gave her a shower before she was buried and she said the dark mark never went away after the shower.
When my mom had me I came out with the same mark like "mama igbodo" as they call her. By then my grandma said the mark looked familiar to her but she couldn't remember where she had seen it before. Then I started tormenting my parents I was crying nonstop according to them for two days straight. My moms breast couldn't pacify me that it was scary. I never took a break from the cry for two straight days,my grandma said she knew it wasn't ordinary, they took me to consult the oracle and the priest told them who I was and immediately they called me her name I stopped crying. The priest said I was crying because I was angry that they didn't recognize me. It was then my grandma remembered the mark too. So as if that was not enough. Onetime my grandmas friend that was among the women who showered the late woman came to visit us and I just finished pooping, I went to my grandma to clean my butt for me the woman saw the mark and started screaming, she asked my grandma if she remember the mark.
According to them I don't look like the woman in the face or anything. I don't even remember anything from my supposed past life sef. My grandma used to say I will have a lot of kids because I didn't have one in my former life. But the way my life is setup and the awareness I have now I won't have lot of kids, who plenty children help? Two things that are weird is one I love kolanuts a lot, I used to steal it too from where my mom keeps them. I can eat as much as I see, my teeth will be brown but who sigh. They said the woman was a kolanut dealer, she sold a lot of kolanuts, bitterkola, and alligator peppers and that was her major source of income. My grandma also said that she always said she will come back to this world and she'll go to "obodo oyibo" so I was practically begged to play the lottery by my friends in school one time, and I played it. The next year the result came out and my name wasn't there. Two weeks later the person who played it called me that I won. So the first result was cancelled and my name came out on the newly released one. The guy said a lot of people from my school won with the first one, but with the second one it was only me in my whole school. I remember my grandma telling me it wasn't a coincidence that that woman said it before she passed away she will travel out in her next life. So is my grandma theory that I was lucky with the visa lottery true? I really don't know but the way it happened was weird, a lot of things I didn't type cos I'm lazy but I strongly believe there might be a connection. So yeah that's my little story.
