I would like to ask a favour...Can some explain the POS business to me clearly?I am currently trying to find out bout the business cos of someone that was gifted 100k to start a business and decided on POS and got the machine almost free..I need explanations cos i owe someone else an explanation..Please this is not a call out to insult anyone.
About the Lady who they say jumped off 3rd mainland bridge that i reported exclusively.......The body has still not been found and i discovered a theory/school of thought which smells too good to not be true.....
I think someone did jump off but the person can swim and swam somewhere to safety...The reason that sensation was created was to disgrace that Lady who was allegedly unfaithful and whose nude photos and story had been circulated on whatsapp two weeks before to cause a sensation and go viral but it quietly died down..
So someone who was probably very angry with her decided on something else to be able to bring out the story of what she supposedly did and circulate the
photos.....Did they achieve their aim?Yes they did but they made that woman a stronger person and i pray she weathers the storm and talks about her story one day.
I don't know why a woman is always the one disgraced when there is Adultery...Like the men have some exclusive right to commit the act and women don't?......The person behind that 3rd mainland bridge brouhaha should not worry...Every dog has its day!

Stella,POS Business in simply terms is transfer or withdrawal of money from a dealer to a client with a certain percentage...
DeleteFor eg,Stella is a business woman at Alaba International Market who cant be making out time always to be going to the bank for withdrawal or transfer of money(because of Queue)...
Now Martins has a POS Machine and probably some cash for those who want to withdraw...
Stella comes to Martins and uses her ATM on my POS and i collect #200 commision for every #5000(thats the percentage in my area)..so if you need #20000 i get #800 commission instantly..
I save stella the time of going to the bank to Queue while she gives me a certain percentage...
Same thing goes for transfer of money to another bank(you can either transfer to me using your mobile app or USSD CODE or you come with the cash while i now do the transfer to the person and collect my commision..
At the end,stella is happy cos she saves time;while i am happy cos i keep getting my commission..
Some POS dealer deal on gift cards and other things too,cos some arent restricted to only withdrawal or transfer of money...
In summary,its a very lucrative business but needs security and enough cash in your bank account,cos some transfer are huge but the good thing is that the POS dealer gets richer on every transaction made..

@Stella I do not think you can get the POS Machine with cash,Banks will be willing to give you as far as they are getting their own commission. The most important thing here is the CASH you will use to refill your bank account. The higher you sell, the higher commission you get. It will be very disappointing if customer comes to you and you tell them you do not have money in your account. YOU MUST MAKE SURE THERE IS ENOUGH MONEY IN YOUR ACCOUNT ALL THE TIME.

It's not all about the money but I think POS shouldn't be ones only source of income. What if there is no patronage in a day or two? You end up using your cash in the bank for feeding and little expenses. What if there are days of bad network? What about the security challenges if you become a victim to robbery?. I think POS should be a business supporting a major business.

ReplyDeleteThis is the business I want to go into but no cash to start.
When you buy stuff in the supermarkets, you can use your credit card to pay for the goods. That small machine where they insert your credit card is called the POS box or machine. It will credit the account of the owner and debit you for the amount of goods you bought. Our people now use this machine to sell money instead of items. You buy money if you need cash and you don't have the time to go queue at the ATM point or banking Hall. They will give you the cash you need and then you pay using that POS and your credit card. They will charge you extra for the money you bought which is their profit. The following day, they go and withdraw the POS cash from their account and continue selling the cash for profit. So cash is the item being sold here and the extra charges is the profit. Instead of using the 100k to buy goods and resell, the person sells the 100k for profit.
He can also do transfer for people who want to send money to others but 100k is too small to include the money transfers. One needs enough cash at hand and in the bank to really enjoy the business because one person can withdraw or transfer that 100k at once but it's better than nothing. It's still manageable as one can use it make profit of up to 3k in a day.

Maybe the government is pushing for us to be more of a producing than consumer nation, but they need to regularise a few sectors first, like power before then, they should just let these things be
