Reality Star Nina Reacts To Recent Interview She Granted...

Former big brother Naija housemate, Nina has reacted and not happy that a publication took jabs at her and her management after she granted them an interview few days to her birthday last week.

The media house released a video of the interview, and added all that happened behind the scene, and everything that was said which was supposed to be edited.

The media house wrote, “Widely regarded as one of the underdogs of the recently-concluded edition of Big Brother Nigeria, Nina Oyenobi never knew she was capable of gathering a huge fan base until she secured a place as one of the show’s five finalists. Oyenobi rose to fame as one half of MINA, a strategic as well as romantic partnership that involved Miracle Igbokwe, the show’s eventual winner.

Since leaving the house, the light-skinned beauty who critics of the show that gave her stardom often dismiss as not ‘sharp’has birthed her own fashion company and hair line, Nina Ivy Empire, giving the impression that she is ready to make a name for herself apart from being regarded as Miracle’s witless paramour.

This was also the impression we at NET TV had when we invited her over to our studios for an interview, a month after the show ended. The interview which was nearly marred by poor logistics (she didn’t have a car and had to be brought over in a Taxify ride we got for her) and ‘African time’, started on a rather ridiculous note when the Big Brother finalist declined to go on air because she was not pleased with her makeup.

‘I can’t use this colour’, she said. ‘I react to some brands. It’s showing the pimples on my face. You guys won’t be there when people are abusing me on Instagram.’ Her staunch refusal suggested to us that she was concerned about how people perceived her and as seen on the show, seemed unsure of herself. She was then taken to a name brand makeup studio by her handler.

They returned almost two hours later but more surprises laid in wait as the interview started. Apparently in a bid to prevent gaffes and WTF type of statements, her new ‘team’ comprising of an official manager and an ‘Auntie’ – attempted to screen the questions she would be asked. Of course we declined. But no sooner than the interview started did they start shouting answers at her. Anytime she started to answer a question, they literally cut in to tell her what to say. We asked how she felt about Cee C. Her team called out from behind the camera ‘Just say unique. Unique!"

Matters came to a head when this writer asked her about the car on screen lover Miracle promised to buy her. Even Nina could no longer stand the duo’s constant intrusion and cried out in frustration, ‘You people are not letting me do this interview well, you people are distracting me.’

Eventually the interview was wrapped up and it was clear that Nina herself was unhappy with the overbearing nature of her handlers. It is expected that as she starts a new life as a celeb, her manager may want to guide her interactions with the media. However there’s a wide gulf between guidance and puppetry. This seemed like the latter.

*Hmmmmmm......Women and drama!!!.....Nina darling your social media handle is your PR..I hope you know?..let me come and be going!

No matter what this is uncalled for and is vindictive in nature. Shade upon shade kilode!
They want to kill and then bury her but then babe it's up to you to be a seed and grow or be a stone and stay dead and buried. Focus on your new business ventures, read business and management books, seek out mentors in the same line who has made it in the line you are and be humble.

There is just something about her handlers that seem off. You have known Nina for just a month all of a sudden you are her god mother. You have bought her a car.
Nina this is Lagos. Be mindful,Toyin doesn't have the best reputation.

  22. It is not about her getting education, she is presently in her final year and one year more in school cannot correct what she couldn't correct in 3yrs.The problem she has is actually from the foundation. All she needs is some few courses on building self confidence and public speaking and she should be good to go.

I always knew she was team bleaching. They hate not appearing white ehh.... once you make them ONE shade darker, na fight. What happened to ‘from making me appear darker than I am?’ English student 💪🏽💪🏽

    1. Thats their trade mark in their house. She rubbed a mixture of skineal and another special ceeam in d house religiously.her pictures r editted like bobrisky’s. Of all d problem with that callout, her problem was that they made her ‘black’ not even dark.

      Delete
    2. 'turning my color' to black is correct. There is no grammatical error/blunder in it, just a difference of language style. It is called Nigerian English. The one you proposed is British English. Please we can promote our version of English. That is exactly what the Americans did.

I'll give another example. Just like Americans say 'y'all', in Nigeria we say 'you people'. Y'all didn't come to church has the same meaning as You people didn't come to church. Just a difference of style. Nigeria English is valid. HAha

  25. I think it would be fair to caption this article better. At least the audience should understand why she responded the way she did. Best they read the main article from bloggers then her response. I've observed bloggers have their fabptite housemates so the arrange stories based on how they want the audience to perceive that person. I give up on Nigerian bloggers!
