Nigeria Lose 2-1 To England In Friendly At Wembley Stadium

England defeated Nigeria 2-1 in an international Penultimate friendly played at Wembley on Saturday.

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, was able to name a very strong line-up for the match, with captain John Mikel Obi back after a long hiatus.

The Eagles will take on Czech Republic in their final warm up game on June 6.

  2. A first half to forget but the guys came out firing on all cylinders for the second half, I am hopeful for a round of 16 qualification at the world cup at least and a quarter final berth at most

  3. Stella you need to hear the British commentators yesterday during the match on supersports the insults towards Nigerian supporters and the team was too much, British people are not nice AT ALL and I really pity black people that have to live in their country.

They said after our goal that the only thing smart about our team is their jersey but at least now they can see that we can play football(this was said in the second half). They called our supporters at the Wimbledon ‘raucous’ meanwhile British football fans are the worst in the world but they will never remove the log in their eyes.

    2. We live near the stadium in Wembley and yes British people are such hooligans during a match...I hate be caught on the high road after a match when they are all going their ways.....noisy, some drunk and doing all kinda rubbish....in naija at the moment but hubby was at the match live and didn’t say anything about racial slurs during the match...I don’t think my life out here is that to be pitied sha oh....lol...I have lived both places and can truly say am happy at the moment...

  6. Live events like this I run off to twitter. Those people are mad I swear.
The tweets were more interesting than the match itself.
We are not ready for world cup. They need to do more trainings.

  9. I must say that i was not impressed with the eagles match yesterday. For f*ck sake, they could not even play with an atom of zeal, the zeal and "morale" was=0. Mikel shots were so weak that the ball sluggishly and comfortably went into England goalkeeper's hand. Not surprised about him, that's what happens when you leave premiership club to go somewhere else in China because they offered him more money and he has lost his football skills. England captain Kane, came all the way from centre of the field and scored this sweet distant goal. Super eagles need more training i must say.
