    2. Since they've decided that only Lagos will have a viable seaport for 200 million people, This type of stuff will keep happening.
Lagos is too congested. Open up Warri, PH, Onitsha, Calabar and Uyo seaports and upgrade PH, and Enugu airports and Lagos will decongest. But no, it will benefit the Biafrans. Let's leave everything for Lagos.
Expect more of these. You can't wish it away. Nigeria must do the needful.

    4. The viablility of Lagos sea ports is being made possible by the kind of dogged Government Lagos state has. And please, enough with your Biafra bullshit. Most of those states you mentioned have nothing to with that dead movement.

  7. Are these people OK? Over fifty cars and buses got burnt but only nine people died and four injured. God blessed us enough that we don't have natural disasters but we are our own disasters. Why put tankers and trailers on the road where civilians pass and at that time? We have enough money and land to create different routes for these tankers and trailers but our useless leaders prefer to keep the money to themselves. This Abacha loot they want to share to so called poor people why can't they start by doing things like this that really matter to the poor people and save their lives instead of jeopardizing it every time. Enough is enough!! RIP to the dead.

  10. It is ready sad indeed, I think the federal government should adopt same measures by Crossriver state government, no tanker or trailer should be allowed to ply some roads during the day. But looking at this situation, I really don't think it would have averted the tragedy. May the souls of those affected rest in peace, may rapid healings rest upon the ones with burnts and may restoration comes to all those that lost their vehicles/properties to the fire. God have mercy on Nigeria/Nigerians.

    1. It would have been averted if these tankers had their own routes or an allocated time to move like it's done in a sane society. They ain't supposed to be on a major road with other vehicles it's wrong

    2. Anon but you know in Lagos cars and travellers ply those routes almost 24hrs daily. Maybe the damage wouldn't have been this huge but it won't stop it from happening..

    3. It is well , by a Lagos law I believe that truck has no business being on the road by that time of the day. Which means somebody turned a blind eye somewhere.hmmmmm

    4. Sky then a route should have been created for them knowing how busy lagos is

  11. And after a couple of days of posting this incident on social media and shouting pray for Nigeria, the government will forget about this incident, things will go back to the way they were, and it will happen again.

What kind of lawless and ruthless country is Nigeria? They keep in on saying come home, come home, to what?

Nigeria is not safe. Our so-called leaders don’t care. I wish our colonial masters would take over from these greedy lots that called themselves leaders.

And not all of us work in morgues and clean toilet. Some of us are professionals because I know what your small brain is telling you.
And yes I will come here to complain if and when my country of residence fucks up.

  14. Tanker drivers should be banned during the day time. This will help to prevent further reoccurrence in the future.

  15. Liars! Always reporting the wrong things. Only God can save us from this wicked country. It's as if people's live are being used to gamble, no value whatsoever for human lives.

Set laws for these tanker companies, they won't! All they care about is the money they are generating. Mtchewwww

    ReplyDelete
  16. The fear of these trucks and tankers is not paranoia , just imagine this. So who will pay for this??
In a sane country, the owners of that truck would have rendered a heartfelt apology by now and also arranged their tens of millions of dollars.
As it is, the dead are dead. The living are left to lick their wounds and told to be grateful they even survived.
Every inch of this country is s disaster waiting to happen😭😭😭!!

  17. Jesus Christ, this is a sorry sight. The rate of death in this country, may God help us all Amen.

  18. Jesus we commit Nigeria into your hands.
Take the wheels Lord. this disaster is too much.
How can 53 vehicles be burnt, humans roasted beyond recognition and someone says it is only 9 bodies? so 44 empty vehicles just decorate road?

    still in shock.

  19. I think at this moment,we need to orientate those drivers, though the deed has been done but it is very important..take for example

A driver who has been driving for over 24hours without taking a nap is still the same person allowed to drive down a long vehicle to Ekiti state from loading unit..now tell me,don't you think the mins needs to take a nap but they won't,,,alot of drivers who sleep off why behind the wheel,u need not see them close their eyes but the mind is gone cuz he is too tired..am writing from experience...that's that..

Am just too sad this morning...

  24. Meanwhile trailers and trucks have been parked on Eko Bridge/Stadium/Alaka Bridge for more than 1 year and NOBODY has come out to say anything about the situation..If something bad happens now the stupid government will just "sympathize with the family of the victims"..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's a crazy country we have found ourselves in. The hours lost in the traffic caused by the parked trailers alone should concern a sane Government. Why have we resigned to fate? Is there nothing that can be done to save this country? The lawlessness among the citizens is appalling. Even the law enforcement agencies are lawless. Who will save Nigeria? Do we all have to up and move out?

  25. It was a terrible sight. I weep for Nigeria. We need a total overhaul I swear starting from Buhari!

  26. Here in abuja tankers don't ply in the day time. Such law can also be apply on that Ibadan road and Lagos to reduce lost of lives and property by tankers and containers. But before taking such steps adequate security need to be put in place to avoid arm robbers too. May the departed brothers and sisters fine internal rest before God Almighty did I hear you saying amen?
