    1. Why is Dbanj careless like this sef? In this picture I can spot a potential hazard, look at the railing, not high enough a child can climb it and fall from that height and then the case of the uncovered pool. Please someone should teach these people about baby proofing.

  5. I mentioned this in the last post bt that frustrated anon that was peeing on that post said I was melodramatic.
Adults in this country will not take out time to educate themselves or read to atleast know the basic things of life.
You think a child of the state will die and everything will end at condolence visit?
Ofcourse there will be enquiries before the case is closed. It is not a witch hunt, neither does it show lack of sympathy from Lagos Police but it is the ideal thing to do.
This is so tragic! May God console them. Seeing cute videos of that boy is heart wrenching.

I don’t even know what to say about the recent senseless killings by herdsmen in Plateau. I am just exhausted abeg!!!!

    3. Madam Iphie, how many únknown'persons death have been reported? And how many did the police go to condole with and write publicly to? Point is: This is a one off,and his status comes to bare.

    4. In sane countries the first thing is an inquest. The coroners would have visited the scene, codone it off and do their investigation and if not satisfied will do an autopsy to certify cause of death. Only in Nigeria do people joke with lives . Where I reside they value lives, A little fall and bump to my baby's head I ansewr question tire from the authorities.

    5. @ anonymous 11:18 don’t mind iphie with too know, this looks like a witch hunt to me. All the cases of abuse and kids death at the hands of their employers and family members, what did the police do?

    6. How would the police know about others if it’s not reported. Dbanj’s son was all over the internet . No witch hunt here

  6. But why would police send a delegation to condole with the family?
Yes we are all sad about the news but what is special about dbanj and his family that police would send a delegation to condole with his family.
It is better they shut up than this nonsense they are doing
How money police men who die in active service do they send delegation to condole with the family?
This animal farm approach to things in this country is exactly why peiple keep refering us as a zoo.
If u r investigating investigate if u r not then shut up dont appear jobless by going to condole a family at the death of thier son just becos hes a celeb i stupid bunch!

    3. Because the child is an American citizen, his death certificate from Nigeria must be "accurate" in order words, nothing false or misleading there & the US authorities could come in & investigate with the Nigerian police in case there's an insurance claim!

This is how they do things in the civilized world, and especially any untimely death or death from accident, whether at home or abroad involving citizens of western countries like the USA, Canada etc.

    1. Nigerian police are messed up, I understand the fact that they have to investigate which should have been carried out since the boy died but releasing a statement on social media is stupidity.
Why not go and investigate privately because of the grieving parents. Idiotic people.
I really sympathise with Dbanj and his wife. May their sons soul rest in perfect peace. Amen

  15. Formal report for what? Please let the parents mourn their baby in peace. How many Nigerian parents who lost their children have you demanded "reports of circumstances that led to death" from? Pls leave them alone.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Let them keep waiting for official report. As that is the report they will use to combat crime, catch armed robbers, prevent kidnapping.
Official report kee them there. Have they finished collecting the official report fulani herdsmen murdered people in Jos?

  17. The statement by the PPRO just shows the mediocrity in the system.A death has occurred and instead of investigation to commence to ascertain the circumstances within which this occurred and establish culpability or not, they’re are conducting condolence visit? The rot in the system is appalling.

  18. This still feels like a dream to me... RIP to the little one

  19. Yes an investigation should be carried out. What is the child was killed n not carelessness as we portray. We read the news everyday so we should know all this maids n nanny can be used.

  22. I don't know why they made the cause of his dead public. They might even be charged with negligence. A parent is not the owner of a child alone, Children belong to everyone.

  23. So they will wait for them to mourn b4 commencing investigation? !!!!Africa and going backwards . Naija I hail the level of backwardness. SMH. Investigâtion that should commence immediately to rule out homicide, they are waiting. Wow! What if the child lost his life as a result of a criminal act ?
By the way the child is an American citizen, Dbanj and wife do have questions to answer to the Americans. He has to report the death of the son.

  24. They should investigate but the police should know better bthat not everything is for social media. And the parents a letter, call them, talk to witnesses but why put it online andcause the family Moe distress. What a shameful act by the CP

  27. The police served them a public notice because there was no one at home when they visited. The condolence visit would have served as an investigation in disguise. The parents must provide a doctor's report for the cause of death and a detailed police report as well before that child can be buried in peace. You even need a death certificate to transport your aged grandma accross Nigeria for burial. It's standard practice. If you are caught transporting or burying a corpse without a DC, your name na sorry. And yes, the police send a team to break bad news or condole with grieving families when an accident has been reported whether you are Dbanj or not.

    1. Please tell them oh. Moreover if anyone dies at home or before getting to the hospital, a police report is required before a death certificate can be issued to rule out homicide or murder.
I had a friend whose husband slumped and died in her brother's house in Kano where he went to tidy up some business contracts, the guy had to obtain a police report before the hospital stepped in. The wahala no be here oh.
It's quite unfortunate and I pray that God will grant them peace and that this will bring them closer instead of tearing them apart.

  29. The child's parents r very lucky that he died this way in Nigeria. If it was in America, someone will likely go to jail & their name put on offenders list for life.
Who ever was at home that day or responsible for the child, or his caregiver that day, for don dey cool off inside jail right now, had it been in America.

  30. I broke down in tears last night. I was fast asleep, I had also put my son to bed and I gave him his toy car to play with in his crib before he slept. I hadn't slept for an hour, when I heard my baby crying in pain, I jumped out of bed upset because I thought he just wanted to throw tantrums.
I picked him up very pissed, was trying to pet him but instead of calming down, he would squeal in pain. I called his dad who was at work to express my frustration. The dad said, have u tried giving him food, maybe its hunger. I hurried to the kitchen, my boy wont eat, kept crying. I even gave him a few iladi on his bum, its 1am, dont let neighbors call cops on me bayi thinking I hurt you.

Anyway, I felt something was wrong with the way he was crying but couldn't understand, so I told my husband to pray for him. As he was praying, I looked at my son's hand and saw that his thumb was stuck in the toy car he was holding. I tried to gently remove it, and I saw that my son increased the crying,I eventually got his thumb out and that thumb had compressed and was red, blood flow had cut off till I removed it.

I just broke down in tears, and I think the news of Dbanj's don death aggravated it because I could relate with how they're feeling, if something had happened to my boy, I would have blamed myself forever.

I just want to thank God that I didn't sleep like a log of wood, and I want to thank God we took the initiative to pray. And I want to thank God for drawing my attention to his hand because I thought he was only holding on to his toy not knowing his thumb was stuck.
