Former Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu Reportedly Robbed Of Over £8000 At Moscow Airport

Arsenal legend Nwankwo Kanu had $11,000 US dollars (£8228) in cash stolen from his suitcase in Moscow after he arrived from London.

Russian police said it was taken by two loaders at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport.

Kanu, 41, reported the money missing when he reached Kaliningrad, where he was playing in a World Cup curtain raiser game organised by FIFA.

Russian Interior Ministry, said the loaders were dealing with the baggage from a London to Moscow flight.

Kanu, travelling on a British passport, had appealed for help to police in Kaliningrad. The stolen cash was removed (from the loaders) and will soon be returned to the owner', she said.

Mash online news outlet reported: 'The World Cup has not even begun yet, but world soccer celebrities already require the help of Russian police.'

The loaders, aged 30 and 36, face criminal investigation and could be sent to jail for up to six years.

  4. Very wrong of the loaders to be taking people stuffs....

I don't know why people still travel with cash higher than a thousand five hundred euros/dollars or pounds in their bag.

    What are credit cards for?!

Sorry Mr. Kanu for the stress, but next time, travel with less cash and use your credit card.

  9. Who puts cash in checked luggage? They tell you all valuables, prescription medication, jewellery and money you should store in your carry-on or personal item, truthfully you don't even need someone to tell you this common-sense should guide you. As global and exposed as this man is he still put all that cash in checked luggage and now is disturbing us..mtschww
