FG Lists States That Will Partake In Disbursement Of $322m Abacha Loot In July

The Federal Government says it will commence disbursement of the recovered 322 million dollars Abacha loot through Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT) to 302,000 poor households in 19 states in July.

Tukur Rumar, of the National Cash Transfer Office (NTCO), disclosed this at a roundtable on assets recovery organised by the Swiss Embassy on Thursday, in Abuja.

The states include: Niger, Kogi, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Kwara, Cross River, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Benue, Taraba, Adamawa, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarrawa, Anambra and Internally Displaced Persons Camps (IDPs) in Borno. According to Rumar, the benefiting households will receive N5,000 monthly.

Mr Iorwa Apera, the National Coordinator, National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO), said 503,055 households were already on the NSR register from the 19 states, adding that by July, there would be a social register for all the states of the federation. The Federal Government would begin with those states, because they had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NASSCO to put in place certain infrastructure to empower the national register.

He said, “Some of the states delayed, but the other ones were quick enough to set up infrastructure that allowed us to start work there, but all the states are now on board as they have set up their state operating offices and donated office equipment to us. As states come on board, we enroll and so they extend to the beneficiary register, and presently we are generating data in all the states now.

  19. Until Buhari comes out clean with his northern agenda, stay woke people! pray tell there are no poor in south eastern states, majority of Nugerian live below a dollar a day so WTF! so only buharis herdsmen cum kinsmen have the poor and displaced? A country with no infrastructures, pensioners are dying, economic recession, poor electricity, no health insurance or basic amenities. God will continue to punish buharis and his cohorts. Osinbajo acting a fool as well. The country is getting bloodier, we better vote out this government now! They are a bunch of senseless fools. 2.1 billion dollars loan by world bank approved for Buhari today! Fools! Will 5k monthly allowance alleviate poverty? The funds were they not generated in the southeastern states and looted by abacha and co during the oil boom. This is why they refused to just divide this country! Robbing Peter to pay Paul. Fools! I can't wait to leave this shit hole!

  21. Heartless buhari lead government..what about the niger delta ? The real owner of the abacha loot? Fear God o.

  22. If they give 200 million nigerians one million dollars each, poverty will vanish in our land.Let us assume that is our total population though we are not up to that figure.
There will still be change of over 100million dollars for the govt to use.😂
Why are they borrowing money when they can spend the abacha loot.
Giving poor states money is a scam.
And 5k a month for a daily is evil.
Corruption is a terminal disease that politicians suffer from in Nigeria.
