Falz Responds To The Backlash Of His Viral Music Video ''This Is Nigeria''

Folarin Falana aka Falz the Bahd guy has responded to the condemnation and criticism his new music video has received. The rapper’s controversial musical video #ThisisNigeria exposes societal ills in the society.

He also made use of vixens in Hijab to depict the chibok girls. This made a muslim group, MURIC to give the rapper a 7 day ultimatum to withdraw the video and tender an apology or face a law suit.

Speaking in a recent interview, Falz, the son of a renowned lawyer, Femi Falana, stated that the use of vixens in hijab was intentional, asked if there was any law against his actions.

He said:
“It was very intentional. We continue to forget or neglect the innocence of the girl child and because of all the issues that we are having, the kidnappings and the killings especially in the Northern part of the country, the Chibok girls and very more recently the Dapchi girls, It is very disturbing and we don’t often talk about them and I was a bit surprised to hear people say why would you put girls in Hijab to dance Shaku Shaku…common, is there anything wrong with people dancing because they are wearing Hijabs? Is their any law against that?”

  8. I just want to ask, Is the MURIC association not away of Satire? The use of Irony or humour to criticise.
    The whole idea was not about the dance, It was merely show casing the killings and kidnap/rape of the Chibok girls.
    Anyway, Childish Gambino even refused to explain the hidden meanings of his own, It is only when you watch to understand that you will realise it was not a fun video meant for dancing.

      Everything scatter scatter
      Gboza gboza, gun shot i na the air!

      I remember obj took him on during his first term.
      Really things are even worse;
      there were no boko h. or chibok girls then
      Now, we are no longer talking about "gun shot in the air"
      but also "bombs and fulani herdsmen". Herdsmen that we used
      to follow around with their cattle and ask chekeleke to give us
      white nails etc.
      Oh Naija innocence is gone! God save our country!

  27. My own is I’m scared for Falz’s life o because you know this people, anything that has to do with their religion is taking to the extreme. God please protect him. I experienced the killings in the North in April 2011 first hand, two of my Corper colleagues/friends were massacred, we went into hiding in a house without doors or windows but for God, I would have been butchered like a cow. God manifested what He did in the times of the israelrites, He became our pillar of cloud that day, they were parading in front of the house but didn’t know we were inside, more than 100 youths shouting allah akbar. Still sends shivers down my spine anytime I remember because I had a close brush with death in Itas/Gadau LG in Bauchi state. The essence of this epistle/ testimony is that these people can go to any length to defend their faith.
