The association said it was praying that the Federal Government of Nigeria relocates its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. CAN President Revd Samson Ayokunle disclosed this in a goodwill message signed by his Special Assistant, Media and Communications, Adebayo Oladeji. The message was presented during the celebration of the 70 years of the existence of the Israeli Government by the Christians United for Israel in Abuja.
The prayer by CAN followed the recent relocation of the Embassy of the United States of America from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Ayokunle said, “The Christian Association of Nigeria congratulates the Israeli Government on the relocation of the capital to Jerusalem and on the occasion of 70 years anniversary of their country. Unarguably, the relocation is the special anniversary present from the Patriarchs. We appreciate the leadership role of the United States in the landmark historic event.
“The Christian Association of Nigeria is placing on record that the negative vote of Nigeria over Jerusalem is not the consensus of the citizens of this country and, therefore, it should not be regarded
as representing the choice of Nigeria. “It is a sectional and unilateral imposition of the President Buhari administration.

Moving all these Embassies up and down is not the problem, my problem with these new developments is that Jerusalem will now be the new target of those evil jihadist.
ReplyDeleteJerusalem is about to be the centre of crime.
You're right oh... Hmmm
DeleteThey cannot try Israel...they will fail
DeleteJeruselem is in my bucket list, I hope when the time comes for me to visit, there will not be problems of bombing and killing with knives.
ReplyDeleteGod bless Israel 🇮🇱
Good Job CAN.
ReplyDeleteCAN has totally lost it.
ReplyDeleteAs if what we are grappling with is not enough?
Boko Haram,Shiites/Zakyzaky.
Why are some of these idiots hell bent on turning Nigeria into another theatre of proxy war among Middle Eastern powers?
My dear calling them idiots is a no no please. You can say your mind without being insulting.
DeleteThey have lost it I tell you.
DeleteZarams you are very right regarding my choice of words, but when we look at how far down we have gone as a country,it is because we fail to call people to order with inflammatory pronouncements like this.
Deletei have no words
ReplyDeleteI am just observing events as they unfold.

DeleteCAN thinks Israel is a Christian country. Have you Christians ever thought of asking about the lives and status of Christians in Israel? Have you asked Palestinian Christians what they think about the move of the US Embassy to Jerusalem? What you guys don’t know is that, Christians in Jerusalem will continue to be marginalized and sidelined from their religious activities in Jerusalem because the Jews of Israel will take over the sacred spaces there. Interesting fact is that, no Christians or Christian country embarks on pilgrimage or call themselves JP (jerusalem pilgrim) except Nigerians. How did that come to be? Because Nigerian Christians wanted to also benefit from Government sponsors of Muslims to Saudi for their annual pilgrimage by creating an opposite to it, which is Jerusalem. Ask yourselves, where is it in the Bible that Christians should go to pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Where is it in the bible that Christians should use the title of JP after visiting Jerusalem on pilgrimage? Naija, I bow for your people o. Read on as Israeli Christians see you guys as betrayal of their brotherhood by supporting the Jews you accuse of crucifying Christ. You have bibles but have no knowledge of it. Daddy Freeze, come shoot them with words.
ReplyDeleteHmmnnn! It is not only the Christians in Nigeria that are foolishly weighing in on this Jerusalem thingy.
DeleteThe Muslims too carry the thing for head like gala, forgeting that there are so many complexities involved in the whole thing.
And the sad thing is the religious leaders that are supposed to know better are the biggest peddlers of ignorance.
The sadder one is that these followers who just lap everything up without asking questions.
Hahahah you wise abeg.too much sense
Deleteyou are the one spewing in ignorance.....going to mecca is one of the 5 tenets of Islam.....for Christians nobody has said going to Isreal will take you to heaven, people just desire to go to Israel because you feel a sense of fulfillment walking the places Jesus walked so don't get it twisted..if the Muslims who have always felt Nigerian money was their birthright alone are getting sponsored why not also sponsor Christians to the birthplace of Christ..CAN supports the Jewish nation not Christians in Israel..we all know not all Jewish people are believers so stop making all naija Christians sound stupid...we support the Jewish nation because of what isreal means to the christian history and its significance to Christ as his birthplace..donald trump as an american christian knows this and thats why he has pushed jerusalem as capital, he knows that is their birthright as jews....as Christians and truly believers our duty is to even pray for the Jewish people to even come to know Christ as their lord and savior....Jerusalem is their birthright and rightly given to them so una never talk any sense here than you are the ones actually being ignorant in this case....if nigeria is not an islamic state when other nations are moving to jerusalem why should we not? must we remain in tel-aviv in support of the islamic nations?
