Another public holiday is all I see.
ReplyDeleteJune 12 for democracy day..
That is supposed to be the real and true democracy day in Nigeria.
DeleteAnd nothing wrong about it being another holiday. Nigeria does not even have enough "declared" public holidays.
Stella, he cannot be called a former president or listed as one of the presidents of the country because he was never sworn in. It is like a person who died after winning an election but not sworn us. However, his place in Nigeria’s political space should always be acknowledged when teaching about events of presidency and the position. And yes, this date is supposed to be the factual and most authentic democracy day for Nigeria. Whether it is for political reason or not, it is commendable. It is a right step. People have asked for this for years.
DeleteThats all i see and look forward to...public holiday
Deleteπ€πBeht Stella why the picture of MKO having tea?ππ©π
DeleteHe cannot be CGFR. That title cannot be awarded posthumously. Other than that, congrats to our Oduduwa republic. Now Buhari is pandering to us. 2019 tinz
Delete@11.33,because they poisoned his tea and he died of it and he got killed and passed away due to death
DeleteHmmmmmmmmm
DeletePolitical nonsense
ReplyDeleteLong anticipated holiday loading after June 12.
ReplyDeleteStill he will not come back 2019 by God's grace and mercy. Amen
ReplyDeleteYou sure? Where you opposition and the person to take over from him?
DeleteExactly...he is hoping to get votes from Abiola's fans as all the Yorubas fall Mugu when he made Osinbajo his VP.
DeleteUna better shine una eyes o.
Nothing for him. What is he coming back to do exactly?
DeleteGod knows best for his children and I have my PVC.
Good of him.
ReplyDeleteYour comment will be visible after approval
Baba thinks we are going to fall for this.our mumu don do.
ReplyDeleteOver do self
DeleteMy dear,it will never work.
DeleteBuhari did this just to gather vote from the Yorubas. If not why haven't him done it since last two years?
ReplyDeleteFor most of us, our mumu don do. I hope for dem their mumu yaff do too. Na to focus for the future na im be the koko
DeleteYou took the words right outta my mouth. There are so lucky Baba Fela is dead. We need a revolution.
DeleteWho doesn't know that. Don't mind him.
DeleteAwwwwww, this is a very great news especially for the people of the South West. But I hope they won't let this make them vote against their wishes. No offence meant but South westerners are too easily cajoled by little things and it makes them act indecisive remember, no offence meant (judging by previous elections)...
ReplyDeleteBack to the news...
Heard (heard oh) students of unilag came out to jubilate.
This took sooo long but its better than nothing.
With this news Now, people will have to converge at eagles square for another democratic day? Or does it start next year?
So another public holiday awaits us yh? Na so π
I am damn so happy
DeleteSince yesterday night, it's been sweet dreams π
Same girl.so who are we voting for?I mean who are the other contestants???
DeleteShut that trap of yours. You easteners and south south always have crap to say. Always looking for who to blame for every damn thing. Iv never seen.
DeleteCongrats Olori... I share your joy πππ
DeleteAnon 1: not sure... we still are not sure of our contestants. Let them finish their primaries and present their candidates then I will decide π.
Anon 2: calm your nerves, I'm most prolly not a s/southerner not an eastener π. I think I'm from a confused geo political place myself ππππ... high 5 to us, God will help us make the best decision this time around okay π
You spoke my mind dear
ReplyDelete"Buying off Yoruba's . . . " ***In his mind***
Baba thinks he can do without jagaban? If he likes let him declare oduduwa day a public holiday, he ain't getting a vote from me or my cabals
Deletebuhari is a 419 Hausa man, Asif he has been doing it before.why this year? because of election abi? me I be real Yoruba lady n I from same state with osinbajo but I am not gonna vote for you old fool...I am sorry osinbajo na buhari no go make me vote for una despite ur kindness n ur good heart...but please finish d good things you are doing for your state before election oh..Lolz
ReplyDeleteWhether it's a strategy or not
ReplyDeleteThis is so commendable
It's long overdue, anyone who experience June 12,1993 will know that was the beginning of democracy.
Moshood kashimawo Olawale Abiola can now rest in peace
I know Olori Oriente! People of Egba land (my mother's land) never forgot him.
DeleteI witness everything back to back, still very fresh in my memory. I'm so happy for this great news.
Though I'm no longer a fan of president Buhari, but he just earned a double respect from me.
This declaration and the not to young to run bill is a big one for the entire country.
I saw Stella hash tags this morning, I hope the not too young to run bill has not open a door for young driven criminals to come into power and loot too!
God bless his soul
God bless the Abiola's family
God bless Nigeria π³π¬
God bless you Ms A.
DeleteYou have said it all
Its just a real pity, Abiola should have never gone into politics. he should have remained a business man. He would have even been greater than Dangote today.
DeleteAll his businesses, investments have all gone into ruins.
Its too little to late. This award and public holiday is to do what for the family ???
The man was loved by everyone, I can remember back then some of his daughters were in my primary school (Bisi's kids), they use to be the envy of everyone. Everything is just scattered, even the kids are fighting eachother. A real pity.
So hes not been resting in peace all these years??? Issiorite!
DeleteHmmmmmmm 2019 tinz. Shame to schemers.
ReplyDeleteNiherians or rather South West will not fall for this.
Outright nonsense and
ingredient. God forbid APC regime. We have suffered enough.
Cant wait for 2019 to vote out rubbish government.
Buhari is proving himself a politrickcian sorry politician by the day. First it was the not too young to run bill signed into law with the speed of light now this. He in his mind has secured the youths and then the western part of the country. I wonder what he has in store for the southern part. I'm voting for the first time next year by the grace of God. Just like it was anyone but Jonathan, it will be..... complete the rest at home.
ReplyDeleteOk na. So no be only lagos state civil servants will enjoy this. Me too join
ReplyDeleteIt's been over due!
ReplyDeleteAbout making him a posthumously former president, it depends on the activists that are handling it. I think if they can bring it to the awareness of the president, he might consider it too.
But I'm happy about this news. I witness this election as a grown teenager and I will never forget that dark age in Nigeria.
It's like how president Trump granted posthumous pardon the the first black American boxing Champ Jack Johnson. It didn't just happened, some top American activists helped in Making it happened.
Similar case of the woman Mr. Trump just granted freedom after spending more than two decades in prison. It was Kimberly Kardashian that has been on the case and she finally met with Mr. Trump. Trump finally signed that she should be released two days ago.
So, I believe the fight to declare MKO Abiola a posthumous president is still possible even though not by the present government.
You cannot grant someone President title posthumously. So they will write from which year to which year. Same reason you cannot grant the CGFR, so long as the person was never sworn in. The constitution doesn’t make room for such.
DeleteStella you r so right on this. 2019 is loading so anything to get voted in again but we rebuke him. Let him go n rest n spend time to bond with his grand kids.
ReplyDeleteCould it be osibanjo that gave him this idea to buy the Yorubas with this ?
ReplyDeleteNobody is buying anything trust me.
DeleteHe is the worst president we have ever had. If he likes he can even make Awolowo day. No one is falling for his gimmicks. He can continue fooling his Fulani people.
I have never voted in my life. But I must vote this man out. Even Osinbajo cant help him.
Very stupid Bed and Roses. You’re so empty goodness
DeleteIt won't work.
ReplyDeleteIt's soooo obvious this was done to buy the votes from the west but if this actually makes them vote for him again, then they deserve whatever stupid leadership they get.
Wow, my birthday will now be public holiday..Enough groove mehn.
ReplyDeleteHe did the right thing but that doesn't make his administration a good one.
ReplyDeleteI'm not voting for him come 2019.
QED! SIMPLE!!1
DeleteNice one, but if he did it to gather vote in 2019,l don't think it will work.
ReplyDeleteI commend Buhari on this great honour to late MKO...But we Nigerians didn't for Buhari for this we voted him to better the Economy and give us basic amenities...Trying to work on the sentiment and gather sympathy from a particular tribe shows how dubious Buhari's administration is,Nigerians especially the Yoruba's should read between the lines use your head
ReplyDeleteWell said!
DeleteGreek gift. We will still vote you out next year.
ReplyDeleteGreek gifts or not, this one has come to stay.
DeleteI'm over excited.
These are the things we should be happy about.
The battle won by our heroes past should not buried. They should be celebrated.
With immediate alacrity...He is soooo OUT!!!
DeleteIt's a good thing..a welcomed development. Indeed MKO deserves this but Buhari must know that whatever politricks he uses this time, 2019 is not sure for him (by God's grace). It will not work.
ReplyDeleteSo will there be public holiday on 12th June, 2018 Next week Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteIt's a special recognitiomtomusmin the south . And I think PMB did this to shame Obasanjo. I so love his initiative.
ReplyDeleteI am embarrassed for Buhari. Anything for power. It is well.
ReplyDeleteOnly those who are sentimental and ignorant to the real history of Nigeria (not the shaku shaku and body enlargement history) that will be offended or embarrassed by this commendable deeds.
DeleteHmmmmmmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteGud of him,bt if dis move is to gather vote,he hv failed.
ReplyDeleteThis is just to buy our votes
ReplyDeletePresident said the june 12 public holiday will kick off next year. So there's no public holiday this year - tuesday except for lagos state civil servants. So ti bo?
ReplyDeleteThis man with tea and na him dey take finally kill am.See as he professionally hold d mug cup. Continue to rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteBuhari try no be small, i guess this is another strategy to win more votes
ReplyDeleteHoliday is Starting frm next year. I don't think the yorubas are easily cajoled but they do Ofcux have a voting pattern which is usually collectively and one-sided... I think other geopolitical zone are also guilty of same but the south-west votes usually carry weight and dictates the winners hence it is much talked about.
ReplyDeleteSouth West votes does not carry weight or dictate winner.
DeleteWhat happens is if 2 major tribes come together r and vote for one person, of course it would carry weight. Especially when you are joining voted with the hausa. The hausas are more in number, so any other tribe they join forces with will win the election
It’s very obvious you guys were very young during June 12. Nigerians spoke with one voice! Please don’t tribalazie this great day . I’m from Edo and my whole family voted for this great man. So who are the candidates out there? None if you ask me
DeleteGreek gift to the Yoruba's, 2019 is around the corner.#if you know you know#
ReplyDeleteThis is commendable and its a plot to get south west vote.
ReplyDeleteBut I will never vote for Buhari in 2019.......APC ntor......
this is commendable
ReplyDeleteOff course na pre election campaign be dat na to capture d votes of d west
ReplyDelete
