Adekunle Gold Says He Has Been Battling Depression...

OhMyGod!

Afro-pop artist Adekunle Kosoko popularly known as Adekunle Gold has revealed that he has been battling depression.

In an exclusive interview, he explained his story on how he has battled depression for the longest time and how he has managed the situation.

“Some people still feel like depression is impossible. How do you have everything and you are still not happy. Sometimes even as an artiste, you have a goal.

“You want to get bigger and then you forget the small victories like you released and album and people loved it. You sold out a show and people loved it. Forgetting that if you don’t get the next thing you want, it will feel like you have lost it.

“That alone will do damage to your confidence and other things,”he said.

    2. you couldn't have said it better!
How many of them could come out publicly and declare that they're infected with one viral infection or the other.
Everyone is now 'depressed or suffering from it' I trust my Nigerian people always imitating the white.

May God Almighty heal those genuinely depressed and battling with it, Amen.

  7. This is not depression!! . People seem to confuse depression with just wanting more, laziness, sadness or they just want to join the bandwagon..
Try Complete lack of motivation to do anything. Any ideas or invitations from other people either seem uninteresting or daunting in how much effort they take. Your mind and body basically just shut down and you watch the day pass at a snails pace.that is depression

  10. Again! Okay, this is becoming quite easy. Since nearly everyone is depressed in 2018, can those of us who are not depressed raise our hands to be counted? I am not depressed. I'm alive. I'm not in the hospital. Not in jail. I manage to eat, pay my rent. And even though I would love to get married to a good man, have children Asap and get myself a decent car, I am grateful for the "little" things I have. No! I may be quite stressed but not depressed by God's grace. I dash those who need the depression I would have suffered.

  17. I was once depressed, it only took the grace of God that I came out of it alive, it was so terrible that I refused to comb my hair, leave the house or even wear decent clothes, I actually preferred to sit in the dark all day and night, I even refuse to communicate with people in the house, it was terrible, I was in a dark place, this is family trend, I remembered how my aunty commited suicide, I don't know how I came out of it, I just know, I woke up I started wanting to loose weight, made friends, started going out, and I started doing alot of shopping, then I just got addicted to praying, depression is what people don't understand, even when I had a late miscarriage I was slowly sinking back to depression, would cry all day and night, barely eating, I don't even go out, would lock myself inside a dark room, I hated seeing light, it was terrible I can tell you this, but as usual God pulled me through, I just wanted to sleep and sleep, probably slip away, Nigeria is not ready to deal with this yet

    2. No I was not working, was in college, and I was working with an agency that would call me if they had jobs, but I would turn it down or I won't give them my availability for the week, so I won't need to interact with anyone and I had a bit of savings I was living on

  18. The thing is that many people are really frustrated in this country and they mistake it for depression, you won't understand if you haven't passed that stage .

  19. He is unhappy, and i understand. Material things can't fill that vacuum.you will find something to complain and be sad about. I have been there. Solution,God,Jesus Christ. He is the way,the truth and the light. If you seek Him first all other things would be added. I will pray for you today Adekunle Gold, that God would visit you and you and you will experience inner peace as I experienced when I got that encounter. For any1 who may read this and is in a sad place I pray God would give you that light, that you will open your bible and understand his word and it will fill you.

  20. Depression can simply mean being in low spirit,a sad state... I think it's safe to say that every human experiences this... But when we indulge it, it becomes life threatening & just never goes away. God/prayers/Faith/bible is the key...We should never open the doors to self-doubt

  21. Because some of these artists are not pure in their ways they’ve profited from the downfall of others God doesn’t honor that
