Veteran Actor Charles Obazele Says Former BBNaija Housemates Are Not Stars...

Edo born veteran actor, Paul Obazele, has disclosed why Nigerian reality TV show, Big Brother Naija should not be promoted.

Obazele expressed his dissatification in an interview with Punch.

The actor says the reality show has nothing to add to the development of the Nigerian youth other than s#x.

Some housemates in the just concluded 2018 Big Brother Naija reality show were involved in s#xual activity.

The veteran said, “I don’t like Big Brother; why would I celebrate corruption? Do you want to tell me that to become a superstar, you have to be having s#x in toilets? What are they depicting? There are so many reality shows that they can do.

“It is called cultural dislocation, bringing in the white man’s culture into ours. S#x is nothing to them. The most decent woman I have seen in the years of my travelling is the Nigerian woman. S#x is nothing to other African women, this is the truth.

“Why would I bring in a group of young people between the ages of 18 and 26 and make s#x the topic of the day? What did we learn from the show and today, some people are parading themselves as stars. It is nonsense.

“There are so many reality television shows they can do; they can send some people on internships but then they were able to cajole Nigerians who have small minds who think about s#x always and they started sending text messages to vote.

“At the end of the day, they were able to rake in more than N350m. If the organisers of the show made that amount of money, how much is the N25m they are giving the winner, it is a stipend to them. We are gullible.

“Some people would argue that it does not matter because they have warned about viewers’ discretion but that is nonsense. The show is shot in South Africa and to be honest, s#x and drugs are nothing to them. I do not promote things like Big Brother. It is unfortunate that they call them stars.”

*Well everyone has a different mindset to this Reality show...Since it is so widely viewed I think the Organisers should do something positive with it...The last one was a disaster and what happened in the house should not be encouraged again lest it becomes viral....

    1. Let them know!they are stars whether we like it or not!most people don't support the immorality but we aren't gonna kill them for that, leave the negative and focus on the positive , the tasks and creativity that they promoted every week. Plus some people are out of the jobless youths category thanks to BBN.

  4. So true.... they are not stars at all, all the hype about them is just soooo annoying!

  5. Nobody calls them stars apart from ignorant Nigerian bloggers. Across the CIVILIZED world they are called former contestants. Simple. What they do after the show will determine their 'stardom'. Being a star is EARNED it is not a dashed title like you find amongst ignorant Nigerians who will worship a dead rabbit so far money is involved.

  6. Personally I have no problem with Big Brother, but government should not in any way get involved with it. I cover my face in shame when i see government officials hosting the housemates in their various states, for what exactly? Very shameful!

  14. Na wa oh. How much sex is promoted in big brother compared to the unity and positive presentation and tasks? People exxergerate these things. No one is forced to watch any channel abeg. There are other religious, sport and entertainment channels.

Since we are talking morals, how much moral does nollywood preach?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Come out with a show to promote morality. How many sponsors will one get.
People put their money where their mouth is.
Was channel 198 or 29 the only channels.
Because they will be known more than you, you are annoyed. Take a few seats Oga.

  17. Buhari was right. Nigerian youths are LAZY... especially mentally..and lacking in values.
Y'all can go ape shit under the comments, but the truth is the truth.
The show is crap. Couldn't even get primetime slots in other countries but Nigerians will celebrate rubbish as long as it's cash based

    1. You that's not lacking in value hope you have never slept with anyone without doing the proper thing since you know value, cause if you have What does that make You? If not a hypocrite. Nobody asked anybody to have sex in the house,BBs camera just caught the action and besides it's a reality show anything can happen
