Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola told State House reporters, shortly after the FEC meeting presided by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo that the renovation work was conceived in 2011 but was not captured in the budget. He said the contract which is expected to be completed within 27 months has now been captured in the 2018 budget with a sub head of “Bridge renovation and repair contracts”.
Fashola explained that the project will involve the replacement of 33 piles at the first phase with a total of 177piles to be strengthened in all. He also said expansion joints linking the bridge together would be assessed with a view to replacing the obsolete ones.

That's a whole lot of money
ReplyDeletewhat a confused government. So blinded by greed that they can’t do the right thing for once. Shouldn’t they complete the Apapa project first before embarking on this. This is to say, either you leave for work at 3am or start sleeping at the office beacuse the traffic will be gangster the moment the bridge is(partially) closed to renovation. God help us please. Where did we go wrong in this life?. Who did we offend?
ReplyDeleteThis is a completely irrational thought from you. Because the Apapa project is in progress, there isn’t need to work on the Mainland bridge? Common, stop playing foolishness with stupidity. In fact, the best thing to do is work on the two project as long as there is capital to fund them.
DeletePretty sure you read and understood from your ass. If you have a functioning brain, it would have reasoned out the fact that they should complete apapa first before embarking on the bridge project thereby reducing overly unnecessary congestion.
DeleteI would advice you start comprehending things before running your senseless and useless mouth under my comment. Pretty sure you are one of them thieving motheRfuckers ...... useless mofo, ode.
Hmmmm! There really is a cee-c in most women.
DeleteYou are the one so confused, you not speaking as a learned person.you should know before the project starts every options will be evaluated.
DeleteYour point was a very good one but the congestion will be considered before starting the project.
It was constructed by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC and opened for usage in 1990. Fact to be noted.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was Julius Berger too until I read this.
DeleteNot entirely. Julius Berger constructed from the ebute meta end close to unilag water front, to iyanoworo end. The contract was split
DeleteExactly
DeleteEvery yr them they maintain? ?? They did last year. Just looking for money to steal for election
ReplyDeleteMy problem with lagos presently is the Too many projects going on at the same time! The traffic is going to be terrible. Create an alternative route or even finish the others before starting a new one. They do not consider the masses in their greedy decisions. Very sad!
