King Sunny Ade And Radio Station Staff In Brouhaha Over Unpaid Salaries...

The popular King of Juju music, King Sunny Ade in 2016 started his own radio station named 'Music and Culture 106.5 FM' transmitting from Ondo town.

 However, the radio station is concurrently run with Ambassador Yemi Faronbi, Engr. Olugbodi and Mr. Clement Ige as the members of the board of directors.

According to one of the sacked workers ''Everyone will think with these Calibre of people at the helm of affairs,the workers of the station will be enjoying good working atmosphere but No, the only thing they enjoy is continuous debts cos their salaries are not regular.''

 As at now, the are being owed salaries from December last year till now. On the 13th of April 2018, the workers embarked on a strike after many peaceful dialogues proved abortive with the Chairman and the board members at large.

They were still on the strike and was hoping things would go back to normal when on Saturday, 14th April 2018 Mr. Ige Clement, the Executive Director of the radio station locked up the whole station and left with the keys.

The sacked worker says ''He returned with other board members on Tuesday, 17th April with armed men all over the station. He started calling members of staff one by one with a threat that they either come back to work or lose their jobs. Some of the staffs who are cowards betrayed others and went back to work. The ones whom they couldn't get through to or who wanted their money before resuming  were dismissed with immediate effect without a dime or plans on how to get their money. It's been more than 2 weeks now and there's still no news about their money or how it will be paid ''.

Sacked worker continues ''King Sunny Ade has been seen in the premises with these other board members since this incidence but yet, nothing has been done about payment to the sacked workers. These are people we refer and think they are Men of dignity in the society but they trample on the right of a common man who's worked for them''

The affected staff are;
Mr. Omotayo Adekojo and Mr. Joseph Oluwaseun who were both dismissed
Mr. Jide Ogunluyi and Mr. Oladosu Monsuru who were both suspended indefinitely.

''All actions were taken without pay or any hope of when payment will be made. Help us beg King Sunny Ade and his board members to pay us our salaries. We are not beggars, we've worked for our money and we deserve to be paid for it''.

      May God help Nigeria that this man doesn't remain in power till 2023. The hate in him is so much judging by his comments so far.
      He is feeling he enjoyed to much during Jonathan's time so have to vomit it all now. Bad decisions bad economy.

Answer me pls,the problems with Nigeria has been on going for so many years,it just didnt start with buhari regime,and i tell you i won't be surprised if this man buhari is voted in for second term, cos some people will still be gullible enough to vote him in,betterstill they could rig the election,abi is it not Nigeria again,and even if a different person is eventually voted in,how are we sure that one too will change Nigeria for the better.Politicians are just too greedy and cold hearted

  6. they are obviously not making money...its a new business and this can be expected so the management must properly manage (where your leadership skills come in) the process cos staff will be aggrieved..if they need to downsize so be it but pay off those sacked...

    1. It depends on the station. In Enugu, apart from Dream 92.5FM, no other private station makes money, they owe staff salaries.

  8. But this is being cruel. Yes, the country is in economic melt down but there are strategies towards restructuring in an organization. Even if they decide to sack staffs, why will it be without pay when the law says you should even pay severances. It's just disappointing that someone of the caliber of KSA will be found in this act too. I feel the pains of the staff involved. They should go to court if they don't get result early
