Please explain how you 'Arrived' at your  conclusion.




For the Mother to still beat the daughter that means,she still under-aged and it is the Mother who is drunk...Right?

  2. I think it was the daughter that was drunk. Forget it Stella,some mothers still beat their adult children. I know of a soldier who beats his daughter(a friend) till she got married. She used to tell me he did to all her siblings including the elder ones till they all left his house finally. They dare not misbehave!

    1. However, since the pronoun comes after the daughter, rule of proximity says it's d daughter. This is one of those sentences that can go either way

The drunk in the content is neither the mother nor the daughter, this is is because the sentencial clause modifies an object of beating which in turn explains the reality of the issue which means nobody was drunk yet somebody was beaten. Here the prolumial subject becomes unlimitedly defined to explain in details what could have led to the beating.
