Rivers State Residents Protest Over Massive Black Soot Pollution In The State



A Heavy Protest took place today in Rivers State over the Black soot air pollution problem plaguing the state .

The protest was organized by the Rivers Civil Society Organization. The group march on the streets of Port Harcourt and demand that the government takes action to stop the poisoning of Rivers people with black poisonous soot.

  8. Protest is good, but does Wike have what it takes to stop illegal refining of crude in our creeks?

    Soldiers even contribute to the pollution by burning barges and boats loaded with crude, further polluting the water and air and escalating the problem.

    A lot of Rivers youths are involved in this "kpo fire" business.
    Why not legalize this small scale refining by providing modular refineries for these youths, in the long run this could solve the incessant fuel crisis and in turn the environment is protected.

    1. Legalize small refinery,abeg park well even the ones that are legally built according to standard is given problem of blacksoot according to the governor talkless of illegal refinery. Please think well.

  9. The thing is this, most of the boys doing this kpo fire and the same boys that Wike uses for election thuggery and other hatchet jobs. He will never go for them. The masses are in for a long thing.
