This was disclosed by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adeniji Kazeem. Kazeem stated this during the 2018 Ministerial Press Briefing of the Ministry of Justice, to mark Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode’s third anniversary.
He said, "The truth of the matter is that the case of Rev King, as high profile as it could be, it is just one of the other cases of people that are on death row. The case of the clergy would be considered like others that had been convicted by the court. If and at any point in time, it gets to the stage where the sentence which was imposed by the court is to be carried out, it will be carried out. If he is worthy of clemency, that will be given to him. But we haven’t gotten to that stage now. So he could continue to cool his heels in prison.
From Daily Post
Last last they will release this man?this is a lawless country
ReplyDeleteok ooo. we are watching.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the girl that he killed. How will they family get justice if you consider clemency. Na una way
Something tells me this man might be given a governmental pardoned. Justice delayed is already justice denied. What happens to those he killed? Where their families adequately compensated? Each time we often hear you will face the wrath of the law, but that wrath we don't see.
ReplyDeleteAdeniji can be so funny since have gotten to.know this man.
ReplyDeleteAnyway,u have said the truth Shaaa lets wait and see
Mc pinky
This man is already dead inside! Thats what being incarcerated for so long does to you, it'd rob u of ur mind & soul... the body wouldnt mind dying.
ReplyDeletelol...dead to where? rev king his members still visit in prison and they even give him chance to fuck? take this gist to the bank cos its legit...only pain here is that he will still be alive albeit in prison...
DeleteBeen granted clemency does not mean he will be released, what it means is that his death sentence will be committed to life in prison. So he won't face the hangman's noose.
ReplyDelete“Commuted” please.
DeleteHmmmm... So they haven't executed this man?
ReplyDeleteThey better not grant any pardon, they should rather convert the death penalty to life imprisonment
ReplyDeleteWith life imprisonment he will be released in secret & flew away to another country
DeleteWith life imprisonment he will be released in secret & flew away to another country
DeleteI'm also waiting for the day Evans will be released
ReplyDeleteThe clemency referred to is commute his death sentence to life Imprisonment.
ReplyDeletePeople who are sentenced to death in other sane climes are not killed immediately. It takes years and sometimes they are never killed, it might just be commuted to Life Imprisonment.
So there is nothing with what the Attorney General said. That's a normal practice.
That girl ZARA!!!!!!!!!!!
So this man is going to be released, what about the innocent people he killed, is this how justice will be served? Hmmmm Nigeria lawless country!
ReplyDeleteHe is in Sokoto prison, his members even takes turn to visit him in Sokoto all the way from Lagos.
ReplyDeleteSo this man is still Alive hmmmm..

ReplyDeleteI thought he'd been killed. Nawao.
ReplyDeleteClemency doesn’t mean release. It may simply mean release from death row and commuting to life in prison!!
